@danny_mercer I worked Christmas Eve and Christmas day, totalling over 28 hours (meant to be 26). Only one half hour break each day. Worst shifts in absolutely ages. Sacrificed a lot to be there. And my pay cheque won't be any different to normal. I'm so disillusioned rn.

If a patient needs an adult ventilated bed & an adult anaesthetist, a bed on a psychiatric paediatric ward just isn't going to do the job.... I'm currently working on a 30 bed ward with 32 patient. We are full.

@IanDunt Lol at what age do you start taxing the childless? 18? 30? 35? Only couples? Single people? Total nonsense. A good way to encourage people to have children is to 1. Build houses 2. Pay decent incomes 3. Fund childcare 4. Decent maternity and paternity pay and leave.

@DrEilidhMaria 2 separate days off in 2 weeks OVER CHRISTMAS!?! What is this hell hole of a rota? It's an absolute golden rule - you do not work Christmas AND New year unless you want to. And everyone should have at least 3-4 days off in a row to see family over that 2 weeks.

Interesting debate on titles- The Medical Act (1983) almost always refers to ‘medical practitioners’ not doctors (or medical professionals). #GoodMedicalPractice2024 means AAs and PAs once in UK regulation will have to follow the same high professional standards as doctors.

@Telegraph @realzoestrimpel No it should be free for all and it should be given in order of clinical need and risk. That way, society benefits as a whole due to huge easing pressures on nhs saving maximum lives, money and allowing fastest return to normal life.
