MP for North East Cambridgeshire, Secretary of State for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. Promoted by Steve Barclay of MJS House, Wisbech Road, PE15 0BA.
Tenant farming is so important for the rural economy.
I'm proud of the work being done on our 75 commitments as part of our response to the Rock review.
As we continue to deliver our commitments, we will keep the needs of the tenanted sector at the heart of what we do.
A year ago, we responded to an independent report of tenant farming that included a number of recommendations for the sector.
We have now completed or are working on 64 of the 75 commitments.

Good to join 100+ farming leaders at the NFU Council today.
Useful to hear more about challenges many face with this year's extremely wet conditions.
Grateful for the constructive approach and will continue to work with NFU President

& team to support our farmers.
Today Defra Secretary of State

He heard from English & Welsh farmers & growers on the devastating impact of the exceptional wet weather.
It was an open, frank & often emotional behind-closed-doors conversation.

Floods destroy and disrupt lives.
When Stuart's home flooded, he was forced to leave for 6 months while the damage was repaired.
He's since installed measures to make his home more flood resilient using the Property Flood Resilience Repair Grant.

We know our farmers and land managers are committed to protecting our hedgerows 🌳
These regulations will provide a consistent approach and put baseline hedgerow management practices into law.
Legislation to protect hedgerows has been laid in both Houses of Parliament today.
If approved it will put baseline hedgerow management practices into law, providing a consistent approach across all people operating on agricultural land.

🎣 I am committed to backing the British fishing industry and supporting coastal communities.
🐟 That’s why we’re compensating fishers in the South West most affected by restrictions on pollack fishing as we work to support the recovery of the stock.
