Just look at the state of the NHS today.
Rishi Sunak has decided that the £14.9bn of PPE fraud cannot be investigated & has written it all off
This is the same amount of money as the entire budget for General Practice & Primary care for a year
Imagine writing off 330million consultations, GPs, Nurses etc for a year
Succinct - Clear - Factual
We haven't got enough money to spend £1-£2bn a year paying Drs, but we can find £8bn a year to cut a tax that's only paid by the richest 4%

It’s 181 days since the Govt sat in a room to ‘discuss’ pay with Doctors
Last week they sat down with NHS ‘leaders’ to discuss Winter plans & announced £200m extra funding
This week we found out the £200m was to handle the impact of strikes
Unbelievable failure of leadership
When I was a Junior Dr, there was a Drs Mess, unlimited drinks, toast, biscuits, parking & I had a room to sleep in, all for free
I was paid £19k/year which enabled me to buy a house for £63k.
£19k is equivalent to £40k today
Sadly the house I bought is now worth £350,000
GP Partners to blame for missed Cancer Diagnosis

I was quoted £2000/year - OK I’m 57 - but I’m fit & no big issues, but they wouldn’t be covered & I’d be sent off to NHS for these
NHS funding is £3400/year/person with everyone & everything covered
The NHS is everyone’s insurance even if you go private
GP ‘plan’ - phone lines but no REAL people
2000 Fewer GPs than 2015 when Jeremy Hunt promised 5000 more by 2020
GP Practices & Pharmacies are closing
Contracts that don’t pay enough
Being navigated to a struggling service will increase unhappiness for all
CARING FOR THEIR WEALTH - WITH YOUR HEALTH
Too many stories of NHS funds being funnelled into companies & people who profit from other people’s misery
PPE, T&T, backlog recovery, diagnostic hubs, AI, etc etc
Government & their friends should not be profiting from healthcare
Just in case ‘Boris got the big calls right’ people - he didn’t - clips from March 2020
‘Herd Immunity’ strategy set out by Boris cost the lives of many
“We changed our strategy a couple of weeks ago from the herd immunity strategy” Jeremy Hunt 31/3/20
MPs have seen their pay increase £20k over the last 14yrs

RISHI SUNAK - Mother a Pharmacist, Father a GP

Now decided that the UK doesn’t require UK trained Drs & Healthcare staff & by failing to pay them they will leave the UK
Medical School Applications fall by 20%
Junior Doctors not moving on to higher training 40%
Younger GPs leaving 25%
The world outside Medicine in 🏴 is much more attractive to the bright & talented who would under a different Govt pay agenda be staying in the NHS
Rishi is a fool
The Prime Minster - the son of a GP & Pharmacist
13yrs when his Govt could have been investing
2000 fewer GPs
400 fewer Pharmacies
Community care collapsing
Too little, too late
Why now?
There must be an election soon!
Terrific. So now we can get through quicker to be told we can’t see a doctor - Sunak’s latest cunning plan is to convince us that being told more quickly there’s no doctor available is a huge win for patients - who comes up with this absolute bollocks?!

So very hard for you, it reminds me of the worse part of the early pandemic when Drs & Nurses were crying out for PPE. When we got it it was awful initially & then so many exploited the PPE VIP lanes at everyone’s expense. Cold, heartless & greedy.
‘We haven’t had safe staffing levels for a decade at least’
@ShaunLintern
There are undying reasons why the

is struggling
Drs, Nurses & other staff have to make a stand
IF NOT NOW WHEN - the waits are intolerable - staffing unsafe - infrastructure poor
2012 we celebrated an NHS we were proud of but 12yrs later it is a shadow
📉⬇️ life expectancy, longest waits, 250k excess deaths ccd with comparable nations, 7.7million waiting hospital treatments, dentist queues
Con Govt must be proud of it’s legacy
The 3 people deciding that NHS Drs are paid enough despite Drs having 26% pay reductions & reducing
Who have had pay restoration as MPs in 2016 & pay in line with inflation - not that they needed it - as their wealth keeps on growing
It’s the sick that need Drs not the healthy
So well said

NHS is the very best example of where immigration is of benefit to UK society.
I too am tired of the nonsense spoken by those in power or in the public eye who want to stoke division for their own gain, not the greater good.

The ring fenced budget for Covid was included in NHS budget as was Track and Trace, unused private hospital provision. You will actually see a drop in NHS budgets excluding these funds

Extremely grateful for the NHS, working in it for 34yrs but more importantly as a patient
Without it I would have had huge bill today

GPs - Facts or fiction 🧵
They are not seeing patients F2F
Why are waiting rooms are empty
They are not working
AEs are full because GPs aren’t seeing patients
They shut their doors during the pandemic
They are all part-time
They are paid too much
They no longer care
