What I find so insulting about Keegan's "Minimum Service Levels" is that it assumes striking school staff, via their reps, don't ensure them during times of action. During the 8 days of action last year our reps worked with school leaders to ensure vulnerable children were takenโ€ฆ

There is no "managed reform" of Ofsted. It does not have the support of the profession. Its findings are flawed and unreliable. It is a toxic brand. Abolish it.

Gillian Keegan: - Hasn't made any serious offer - Hasn't even began serious negotiations - Has recommended a further pay cut for next year - Has indicated that next year's pay award should come out of existing budgets (no extra funding) Cancel next week's strikes? No

In 2017 Corbyn secured the biggest vote in Hartlepool since 2001. Even in 2019 (with that disasterous brexit policy that the new management pushed), he secured more votes in Hartlepool than they did in 2004 and 2015 Corbyn held Hartlepool twice. Remember that, "new management"

Most schools already have policies in place to deal with phones. This just about distracting from the big issues that Impact our schools: - RAAC - Recruitment & Retention - Funding - SEND - Child Poverty - Pay - Workloads

One of the biggest issues children and teachers grapple every day with is the impact of smartphones in schools. So many schools have already done an amazing job in banning mobile phones. Now, weโ€™re changing the guidance so other schools follow their lead.

I go to bed thinking the same thing as I woke up thinking "If you fight you might lose, but if you don't fight you will always lose" Organised Trade Unions are the only thing that can defend our communities from a govt that doesn't value the lives of ordinary people.

The crisis in school attendance is rightly being talked about in public discourse. However, laying the blame at the door of parents really is letting this government off the hook. The reasons children are absent can be complex - poverty, SEND, mental health distress, etc.โ€ฆ

Just a reminder that lifting the 2 child benefit cap would lift 250,000 children out of poverty overnight and result in 850,000 children living in less deep poverty.... Cap the bankers not the children.

This is more than about keeping children and educators safe. Transmission in school is driving transmission in the community. To protect communities the government must listen to its own scientific advisors and delay opening in January. Shift online and vaccinate.
