Here is how it goes in my clinics- and always will be. If any patient ever says they would NOT see a clinician because of their colour (white, black, brown etc) - they are given 2 choices 1. See the person 2. Leave Those are the clear lines for the team- and all else End.

2004. A trainee- on a ward round…the team met a Punjabi woman My consultant turned to me and said.. "Can you speak Indian?" Indian isn’t a language - I replied “Does it matter?” I sent him this map next day 😊 He still mentions it. Through gritted teeth Education 😉

3 months or so ago? My Ma was on a ventilator with multi-organ failure And I did THAT flight Powered by the love of many? And the skills of an amazing local physiotherapy team in #Kolkata ? Today- she is doing stairs And that? Is pure joy beyond all else 🥹

Did you know? 11th Jan 1922: 1st #Insulin dose was given. BUT it didn’t work & Leonard Thompson nearly died Canadian biochemist James Collip then purified insulin & the 2nd injection given on 23 Jan 1922. 100 years to the day. It saved his life - and the rest? Is history.
