We can confirm that Ray Wilkins is currently being treated at St George’s Hospital, and his condition is critical. His family have asked for privacy at this time, and we are tweeting this update with their agreement.
In just a few days, our teams have transformed wards and departments so we’re better equipped to meet demand, and treat the most seriously ill patients.
Although exhausting, it has been both inspiring and moving. Staff are working so hard and the support has been amazing 🙌

Everyone at St George’s is deeply saddened by the death of Ken Lambatan, one of our cardiac research nurses.
Ken was popular with staff, and described as a ‘true gem’ by those that knew him well. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues.
We'd like to share an important milestone – 2,000 patients have now been discharged from St George's after recovering from Covid-19.
While we're still seeing the devastating impact of the virus, this is a testament to the incredible work of Team St George's over the past year.
