@iandonald_psych They do realise that in hospitals prior to all this, due to years of underfunding we are already at capacity? There is no give within the NHS system. It has been decimated.

@matthew_sctt Honestly, this stuff is tiring. It's not what they mistake me for. The fact that my male colleagues are automatically the surgeon, I've to work harder, be nicer, be clearer, explain the procedure in details, introduce myself as the surgeon multiple times and I'm still not one.

@Aleexxies Illness is not 9-5. Working nights & weekends is unavoidable. By the nature of workforce and training requirements 36.5hrs is completely insufficient. There are many problems needing to be tackled but perhaps working for awhile before continually ranting may be appropriate?

@danfurmedge As a female I always introduce myself as Ms. If I give them first name despite saying I'm the orthopaedic doctor I guarantee you they'll tell you they saw the nurse or a nice lady. As a male you don't have this problem. Nice for you but I am so tired of the microagression.

@moribunddr I took an F3 at that age than a further 2 years between CT2 (repeated due to I'll health) and ST3. 39 and about to be ST6. Wish I was further along but I needed the time out for my health. The NHS is relentless so don't give it anymore than you have too. Look after yourself.

@HeldinEU @mevparekh Yep. In my current trust there is an A&E RAT corridor nurse and an A&E Majors corridor nurse. Everyday there are ptns lining the corridor in trolleys. These are now offical parts of A&E. It's soul destroying for all.

@ClintSmithIII So recent. I spoke with a 90yr old African-American in 2005. Her grandfather had been enslaved. I spoke to a woman who spoke with an enslaved man. So so recent. Brought it home and I'll always remember Flora and the things she told me and taught me. An amazing woman.

@Not4Twos The matron refused to give me theatre access on my swipe card as for a 6month placement (T&O reg) it would be a 'security risk'. I also wasn't included in protective equipment orders as I wasn't 'theatre staff'. They couldn't give a fuck about us.

@The1OnTheLeft @ChickenCaoimh I know. I sat with a colleague in work who traced his past *4 male ancestors as drs. None of my grandparents even went to secondary. Even now, I'm still so acutely aware of it. I don't think it will ever go away, the feeling of not quite fitting into what I've achieved.
