The matron refused to give me theatre access on my swipe card as for a 6month placement (T&O reg) it would be a 'security risk'. I also wasn't included in protective equipment orders as I wasn't 'theatre staff'. They couldn't give a fuck about us.

First day as a trainee with PWC or equivalent: here is your gym card, your private health cover, your holiday rota (pick when you want). Why do you go on letting yourselves be treated so appallingly. Wish I could say ‘we’ but I had to get out.

For me I'm so far in I want to finish. However, I don't plan on being a consultant within the NHS. I'm lucky that I have options abroad and I want to be the best I can be and then practice in a place where both me and my patients are well treated.

Oh ye. It's disgusting. Sadly it seems she had form for it. Some placements have been better but I think it underlines how little anything we are accorded. Particularly in trusts that have lovely 'values' they proclaim from the rooftops.

Time to realise the system does not and can not work with out you. Time for a mass resignation and contract back in on your terms. They would have no choice.

then people out here on this bird app do thinky thinky face about us wanting to start and finish at our contracted times and not work for free. if only they knew.
