@wanyeburkett When in city we lived in doorman highrise, so security of home was fine. But after moving to safe suburb, it was when I had to run to supermarket at 8pm and my 4yo said "can I come", that it hit me. I could now say yes. You get desensitized to disorder in the city.

@Noahpinion I once visited an office in South Africa which has hiring quotas. They probably had 1 janitor per 2 office workers, so they could meet their quota. In a college, the history department is the academic equivalent on the janitor. Logical to load up on identity if quotas mandated.

@wanyeburkett When I was still in Chicago 2020 to 2022, I honestly thought the whole country had deteriorated like Chicago. I saw posts on Portland and we talked about moving to Singapore. Then visited a nice burb and was in shock that it was same as it always was. Nothing had changed.

@AlanMCole So many kids raised rich in the suburbs were encouraged to study non marketable hobby degrees. It was really fun doing so in college, but that has created downwardly mobile who think their parents were richer due to decade rather than job choice.

Vast majority of poor people are honest, hardworking, and never commit any crime. Policy decisions are primarily whether the poor deserve to be subjected to crime.

@wanyeburkett Create a school in each district for troubled children. Kids get suspended 1-2 days for destructive behavior, and 3rd suspension they are allocated to troubled school. Free bussing from homes to that school. Solutions aren't complicated here.
