One of the more tone deaf posts of the week. A group of cyclists parking their bikes against benches outside, so nobody else can use them while they eat inside, is apparently a great thing.
@john4brexit
Brexit costs 4% every year. If Brexit didn't happen, the economy would be 4% bigger. That is the OBR figure. Not hard to understand, unless you are a Brexit supporter obv.
@kingsleyCGFC
@David__Osland
I found it hard to believe too. But I looked it up. Yes, household income in Mississippi is higher than the UK. Some great Brexit winning on top of general Conservative govt winning. Poland is forecast to overtake the UK in 2030.
@theJeremyVine
It’s quite odd that I cycled to work for several years and hardly an incident. I don’t recall a horn ever being used. However, every time you get on a bike, something unpleasant seems to happen.
@kelvmackenzie
Just looked up Vorderman’s career. Seems she’s still on ITV, will have about £3.5m on top of her house in Wales and no longer associates with Tory grifters. Seems quite a good deal to me.
@vivamjm
Aging foreign Brits with higher than population-average health care needs, who don’t pay local income tax, may have to leave. How unfortunate for the Spanish exchequer. How will Spain cope?
@BrexitBin
There’s being lied to, and there’s a separate issue basic lack of thinking. If you spend months in the EU she went to sell your products, how is voting for Britain leaving the EU going to help with that?
@SkyHelpTeam
@chopchopni
But you don’t provide the best service. My wife and daughter use Sky. They paid £2/day. My son and I use O2. We didn’t pay for roaming.
@vivamjm
Just to be pedantic, you are normally sacrificed on an altar. Crucified is more upright. I’d say you want the altar sacrifice. Brexit definitely isn’t upright, even when nailed on.
@4ChordsNoNet
Cyclists may be surprised to know that drivers on the main road often pause to let people out of junctions. Usually this results in an appreciative wave and a wave back. When a cyclist is involved, it results in a video, Twitter post and complaining.
@AndyGJBurge
@_HenryBolton
It's not just that Henry Bolton only made Lance Corporal in the regular army. It's that he was in the regular army for 11 years and only made Lance Corporal.
@WarksCyclist
NIP did not happen. Speed offences are not prosecuted from helmet camera footage. Overtaking pedal cycles on double whites which are travelling below 10mph is lawful. The 10mph is determined from a calibrated device, not your camera. Fantasist making stuff up.
@n00dles71
Cyclists going through red lights. Cyclists riding at speed, closely past a bus stopped at a bus stop with no observation for pedestrians stepping out from in front of the bus. What could cause all these cycle crashes I wonder.
@WarksCyclist
Sobbing loser digs up Surrey police post from 2021. The post does say “a road user owns the lane they are in”. Will you stop filtering past queuing cars then, since they must own that bit of lane?
@Passenger120
@SkirtingWorld
@metpoliceuk
The van driver aborted their overtake during to not enough space. At that point you started wildly gesticulating at the driver, including at the point where he had plenty of room to overtake. Not really helping yourself.
@FieldsHighbury
Parking regulations do not specify the maximum with of vehicle which may be parked. No PCN is possible for the size of the vehicle here. The PCN is for something else, such as no permit or overstaying. But if you sob harder, you may feel better.
@Rendel_Harris
It's a non event, yet you chose to make a confrontation out of it. Cyclists stopping ahead of the stop line is a routine occurence, yet I don't choose to give cyclists a self-important lecture about it; why do you chose make similarly minor indiscretions part of your life?
@roadpoliceBCH
I’d like to know what goes through the head of people just drive in Lane 3 when the rest of the motorway is clear. Or when traffic is passing on their left in L1 & 2. Does anything go through their head?
@michaelhkay
@MadeleinaKay
You voted for a hard border. You got a hard border. The UK does not allow unrestricted entry for citizens of EU countries. Yet somehow the EU imposing the same rules to Britain as it does to any other non-SM country is the “EU being difficult”.
@NickFletcherMP
Umm, if Britain is full, can you explain why I regularly read about business unable to find staff and large numbers of vacant positions in the NHS?
@DCBMEP
@DCBMEP
You did not read it properly, considering you are talking about education. It’s in US dollars. So the U.K. max is approx £119,500, not £150k. It also appears to include heads of private, fee-paying schools. They aren’t on strike.
Cyclists out, getting fit. Enjoying fresh air. Promoting active travel. Reducing road congestion. Doing their bit to combat climate change. The public spiritedness is just too much!!
@TerraOrBust
@wight1984
@paul_lehmans
@ProfBrianCox
Indeed he's wrong. However we replaced EU membership with the vastly inferior TCA, which is why Britain now has trade friction with our nearest and biggest trading partner and why Britain has higher than average inflation, due to supply constraints.
@GoldingBF
No Paul, British are not second class citizens in Britain. British are second class citizens in the continent of Europe, due to the Brexit you support. As for your leaflet, it's crap and you are a racist with zero chance of being elected.
@SkyHelpTeam
That’s great, But my O2 bill hasn’t gone up at all, they give me more data than before for the same price and I don’t need to pay for EU roaming.
@FlapZappa
@DrZeshanQureshi
It is not a race to the bottom. On you “stopping Labour at all costs” - you may wish to come up with another reason for existing as it ain’t working.
@Peston
Let's be honest. The £1.5bn for deserved NHS pay rises in chump change in comparison to the multi-bullions spaffed against the wall on substandard PPE. Part of which was used to fund Baroness Mone's yacht.
@mrlongdenextra
Look I didn’t go to a street party either. But this is silly. People have TVs at home in 2023. Nobody is going to sit on a deckchair when it is cold and raining when it can be watched at home. Plenty of people were willing to stand in the rain in central London to watch it.
@TheWarMonitor
Even if it were $ billions, this is one of the best returns on arms spending in the history of warfare. Russia, formerly considered the no. 2 military in the world, now reduced to an impotent force held at bay by cheap drones & farmers with tractors. Plus some NATO weapons.
@albundysdad
Yet another failure of the Brexit you support. Undocumented arrivals were lower when we were in the EU and there was a legal mechanism to return arrivals to the first EU country they arrived in.
@blackcabdave50
@metpoliceuk
A reninder, you don’t need to be doing anything illegal for Mikey to publish you on the internet. Here Mikey photographs a woman in her car, then publishes it without her consent on the internet.
@MerPolTraffic
What is the recommendation when you are minding your own business in Lane 1 and slowly gaining on someone who in L2 for no good reason? I normally just pass them remaining in Lane 1.
@HedgehogCycling
You are about 3 metres from the kerb. You could fit an entire car to your left. Not only are you not using the cycle lane, you are right of the centre if th general traffic lane. Then you sob that you have problems. Loser.
@MikeB46263817
@NicholasTyrone
Another sobbing leaver, complaining Brexit wasn’t Brexit enough. Or it wasn’t the Brexit they voted for. Or the govt has messed up Brexit. Always blaming others for their own failure.
@simonharris_mbd
I love Greta. Although I must confess, not just because of what she does to prevent climate change. I also love her as she triggers right wingers, climate change deniers, anti-vaxxers and Brexshitters.
@CobraBall3
Fly at your service ceiling ca. 50,000 ft. Accelerate to max speed. Pull up. Should reach 60,000 ft. If your engines would flame out in the thin air I don't know, but that's my idea.
@Number10cat
Larry, can you run? And form a party of cats? If like to see you as cat PM with a cat cabinet. Maybe then we can get decent governance back for our country.
@TerraOrBust
Your list of benefits are trade deals adding fractions of a percent to GDP over a long period. vs the immediate hit to GDP from leaving the EU. If there were tangible Brexit benefits, everyone would be feeling them by now. Instead people are poorer.
@PlasFron
@vanmaneuro
Ok then. Aged care home workers don’t contribute to the country by your metric. Make sure to remind them of that when you are in an aged care facility and they are changing your incontinence pad for you.
@Taylosh3
@GBNEWS
@mrmarkdolan
The majority of Americans don’t agree. That’s why Biden is in the White House and why the Republicans did poorly in the mid-terms.
@YouFuckingIdio9
The camera dude also seemed remarkably calm, having survived the flying debris, when Gravy Seal 1 turned around with a loaded AR and started waving it at them.
@justchristwo
With 15 or so years previous experience in the oil industry, I can advise you that there is significant drilling, mining and energy use to get oil out of the ground to produce gasoline or diesel to power a conventional car, which isn’t required for EVs.
@ChillaxBcn
Non stop winning. 3 hours of hanging out with other sovereign people, all admiring blue passports together. I cannot believe the winning going on.
@PasticheHomage
@amandajplatell
As I always observe, people who post memes are thick. In your case, the matters being dealt with in court are from far in the past, before Markle came on the scene. That is why she is little mentioned and Harry's gf of the time is. If only you were bright enough to notice that.
@vivamjm
I work for a CPTPP-country based multinational trading company. There isn’t much benefit to CPTPP. We still need visas, customs decs, inspections etc to move anything. For Britain, it’s a long way away. Suggestions it will make up for Brexit are a fantasy of cultists.
@TimmoWorldWide
Brexit has killed almost all short term contract work in the EU, stone dead. Even longer term employment isn’t happening except for very limited exceptions where the persons skills are quite in demand.
@DocCSarah
Why are PAs at specialist clinics? Is the purpose of a referral to see a specialist, so you can see a specialist? Not to see someone less qualified than the GP who referred you.
@FlightFreeUK
I used to commute Heathrow - Edinburgh every week. Flying was faster and more reliable. Also allowed me to leave crack of dawn, go to work and have the previous evening at home with my family.
@roadcc
Well, on your very own posts, suggestions for cycle/scooter registration are met with derision by cyclists. You can’t really complain then if someone unidentifiable can’t be prosecuted for dangerous road behaviour.
@BrexitBuster
Once Coutts realised he didn’t have enough money in his account, was living in a bedsit and doing IRA birthday videos for £70 a throw, it seems they decided to dump him as a customer.
@20splentyforus
Your chart is wrong & shows a distinct lack of engineering knowledge. The 2.25 is the factor in kinetic energy between. 20 & 30mph. It is not the energy reqd to reach that speed. You have ignored rolling resistance, drivetrain losses, engine efficiency and a body of other things.
@francesca_kms
The weather is wet, cold and unpleasant. You need to push one of the kids, using up one hand, so you don't have proper control of your own bike. Even worse that it is windy. Seems like inviting a crash and inviting several days in bed with the flu.
@RealTalk_13
@CrimeLdn
Two police needed to restrain the person on the ground. Another person kicks one copper in the head, looks like he is still aggressive and 2 police now dealing with 2 aggressive people. Police use taser. Totally reasonable and proportionate.
@willnorman
If cyclists want more power for their e-bikes it is easy to do right now: get a motorcycle licence, follow road rules (that’s the hard bit), register and insure it (another hard bit for cyclists). Then you can have an e-bike as powerful as you want.
@GyllKing
Rockets have been blowing up in testing for a long time. If you think it is a waste of money, then all rockets are a waste of money so no satellites, no GPS, no space exploration, no internet in remote areas etc etc.
@JohnWest_JAWS
In operations and maintenance, if you have large numbers or similar errors all at once, it’s ALWAYS part of your process that has gone wrong. It’s criminal what the post office did.
@Bikery1966
As you can see by the blue permissive sign, this is a shared use path. You are permitted to ride on the footway. I'm sending hugs as I know that a brief moment having to share road space is a great imposition for you. Bless.
@SocEnvJustice
I’ll grab my popcorn while able bodied camera cyclists explain that disabled people aren’t really competent to know about their transport needs - and they understand the needs of the disabled better than the disabled themselves.
@GaryinScotland
@theJeremyVine
If pedestrians are shaking their fist at you and shouting at you when you are on a bicycle, just maybe there is something wrong and inconsiderate about your riding.
@johnebooth1
@BladeoftheS
So you are saying the BBC Director General, a former Conservative candidate who facilitated a loan to Boris Johnson, is actually a leftie woke liberal?
@baronlordvader
@alan_firth_
I see. So the long queues at Dover... what is more likely a) that they were made up by a woke remoaner media or b) you have no idea what you are talking about.
@WarksCyclist
Junction was not busy; there was no emerging traffic. 6 seconds elapsed between the pass and when you reached the parked cars. You’re quite a lightweight.
@danclarkie
@vivamjm
@GarthGibbins
Singapore bring easier for you is your subjective opinion. That the SG visa you have is unavailable to 99% of working Britons is an objective fact.
@JoRigby_Balham
@Hab2056
Your choice is to park it in a paid for metal box. You could also choose to park it in your hallway, for free. You paying for the metal box is not compulsory.
@DavidBurgess73
@jonburkeUK
Jon blocks people who don’t agree with him. He claimed that multiple complaints against him at Hackney council were spurious. The standards committee threw out the spurious complaints, leaving 22 to be investigated. He resigned first. I reminded him of that and was blocked.
