Hey
@SkirtingWorld
, I think you should have a word with your dangerous driver who was using this vehicle on the 13th March. The
@metpoliceuk
have also been informed so expect an NIP. An increase in your insurance is likely, better that than a court case and some really bad PR
Have fun defending this one
#fatal5
. School pick up time on a Friday, lots of kids milling around, waiting for the bus. Very narrow footpaths. This is how people get killed are seriously injured.
@markandcharlie
@LDNbybike
Magistrates didn't like her attitude at all. No remorse. Still thinks she did no wrong. Her defense was typical "didn't hit him though". 6 points and ยฃ884 fine.
This should read "thousands caught breaking the law and risking their revocable licence, putting public at risk of death/injury" Disgraceful journalism

but then notices the camera. The look on his face is priceless. Don't do the crime don't get the points, yes it really is that simple. They rarely put the phone down before moving off
#fatal5
@Sh3zz4
Yep, I have studied the above photograph and agree with you. the car/bus lane being is blocked by car drivers. The cycle is moving freely it would seem. They might as well blame seagulls for the slow moving traffic.
Mobile phone use whilst driving. Driver failed to attend court, case went ahead without him, 6 points and a total of ยฃ1,200 in fines/surcharge etc

@HSTIKKYTOKKY4
You're a selfish coward. How could you leg it and hide when your pal is lying on the ground injured. No one is jealous of you, not one single person and no one feels sorry for you. You deserve a custodial sentence for what you did. You're a coward and you know it.
@ediz1975
Obstructing a lane of traffic.
I bet this pisses you off when you are driving a bus around though. This is another example of a bully using their size to dominate the public space.
@MarkPawsey
@UKParliament
You'd be better using your energy to campaign for better cycling infrastructure to protect bike riders from dangerous drivers.
Missed you
@cyclingmikey
in Regents on Monday but the
@metpoliceuk
were there pulling people over. Regents Park 4th March 2024. I'm probably going about 19 - 21 mph, moped rider over takes me and the police pull them over. Now do car drivers please.
@PrincesaAyesha
Driving is a joke or just the wrong decision. Too many people choosing to drive. Cycling and getting public transport is fun, cheaper and clearly so much quicker. Today you learn something.
6 points and fpn. Driver took a selfie of himself driving, bet he holds that memory well in his head ๐คฃ Whoever owned the car must've been pretty pissed off with him. February 2022.
@CrippledCyclist
Glad your okay! Spotted this audi in archway today, once I stopped laughing I managed to take a photo. One less on the road makes it a safer place for all.
@MemeDealin
@MikeyCycling
@cyclingvia
I'm a driver and I love cyclists. I tell you what I hate though, people who endanger me, my family and other road users. I also hate and feel sorry for the people who stand up for said dangerous road users. They and their families too could so easily be victims. Wake up.
@markandcharlie
@LDNbybike
100 quid goes to me (need a new helmet) and I think most of the rest goes towards court proceedings. Taxpayers shouldn't be paying for this when folk are found guilty.

@BBCBreakfast
You Sir, are amazing. How you articulate these behaviours and its affects individuals, families & society is inspirational. Have you got any advice on how to challenge journalists, incl MSM, on their dangerous journalism eg:
@2_Wheeled_Wolf
The video conveniently cuts out as they approach a parked car obstructing the lane, with traffic coming in the oncoming lane the bus driver would've had to wait to go around the obstruction.
@gazza_d
Absolutely heartbreaking to read this article and think about the events that day.
"What led to the car losing control?" The car was never in control, the driver should have been. Why can we not accept our responsibilities when driving any kind of vehicle let alone a tank?
LP71 CLN
6 points and fines totalling ยฃ950, probably had some lawyer fees to pay as well and a huge increase in their insurance premium. Perhaps even a loss of their licence. For selfish reasons alone, don't do it.
@markandcharlie
@LDNbybike
I'm waiting to be called as a witness right now, sitting in witness room with volunteers, I was cycling, closed passed, of course I swore loudly when it happened. This is good to read incase my language is questioned. Thank you!
@ViaTowerBridge
Is picking on people for how they dress really okay?
I've seen more cyclist that aren't wearing lycra going through red lights. Leading contributors are food delivery riders who get bigger tips and more jobs if they are the quickest. Hungry people shout when their food is late.
@alanvibe
So, too many cars. What can we do to reduce the amount of cars on our roads ๐ค maybe have a chat with some of the car drivers (they're behind you)
LK69 FMX left hook, excellent overtaking but them tried to squash me by turning left across my path. Almost collided with my front wheel. Hertfordshire police sent NIP but I don't know the outcome.
@CyclingInASkirt
They're having a great time! Fun++, exercise ๐ฆต, getting to where they need to be without causing thousands of pounds of damage and that smug feeling we all know ๐
@carer_clive
Oh, thanks for the concern, I'm absolutely aware of the road ahead of me, beside me and behind me. That's exactly how I spot these hazards.
@chloroquinecake
@SkirtingWorld
@metpoliceuk
The driver was wildly gesticulating and pointing to the gutter. I waved back and when in front of me I gesticulated for them to move over to let me pass as they were slowing me down. Seemed fair.
@TheWatc47403040
oh watchman, if only you'd listen as well. I've been driving for 30+ years. I have provided medical assistance on numerous occasions to people who have been injured with slow moving vehicles, thankfully no fatalities but it's only a matter or time.
Below are academic findings demonstrating the danger of being distracted by your phone whilst in stationary traffic (there have been fatal consequences). Road crime reporting is not victimising the driverโฆ instead it challenges the law-breaking driver and enables safer travel.
@david_mccraw
That tweet has been bugging me, thank u for doing the research and posting. It's confirmed my belief that the instructor is a liability and probably shouldn't be driving let alone teaching others. Also, this junction needs redesigning,can't imagine being a pedestrian crossing ๐ฌ
@SharonK64961548
@IonutBanu1
I was under the belief that car drivers had to stay within the rules of the road otherwise they risk their revocable licence
@boringscience1
They'd literally ram you out their way without a care in the world ๐คฌ
The Met police are actively prosecuting two drivers for exactly this with video evidence provided by myself. Did you report these to the police? Any feedback re prosecution?
@Councillorsuzie
So, more cycle lanes, hasten the implementation of the ULEZ expansion and tell your bosses to give back all the money they took from the police budget.
#ToryLies
@MikeyCycling
The fact that the Met are prosecuting close passes again is brilliant. I've had several (some deliberate and some not) recently and each one of them was prosecuted. There was a decent amt of time that these reports were largely being NFA'd and I nearly lost faith in the system.

@Taxi_Point
I'm unlikely (never say never) to post the videos but taxi drivers have proven themselves to me and the Magistrates time and time again to destroy their own livelihood.
@anneramsey740
Yikes! The classic bully behaviour, runs away to hide from being held accountable. I really hope the police force will prosecute. 100% deliberate, no excuse, not even rubbish infrastructure can be blamed here.
@BobFromAccounts
@Councillorsuzie
"a moving city" what like the free flowing cycle lanes. We need more, many many more cycle lanes then more people will cycle. Build it and they will come.
The gridlock is caused by TOO MANY CARS. Park lane was chaos way before any cycle lane was installed
#ToryLies
@MikeyCycling
Yes mate! Most reports I don't even give a second thought to, some I feel sorry for the situation they put themselves in and rarely I get joy out of the NIP email. Either way they're all responsible for their own actions.
@TomTalksMoney_
This is definitely worse, and given the fact that 5 people EVERY DAY are killed by car drivers then you have very little sympathy from me
@markandcharlie
@MikeyCycling
@cyclegaz
Can anyone ID this reg plate for me please? I've tried a few possibilities but none are correct. It'll be a good 6 points for the registered owner ๐
@MPSRoyal_Parks
Courtesy?? Drivers can't even obey law or adhere to the conditions of their licence a lot of the time. Put in proper legally enforceable crossings or even better, ban all motorised traffic in the PARK.
@TottenhamConse1
This is deeply disturbing and unbelievably offensive. How on earth do you expect to be taken seriously when you publish material like this. Even anti LTN/Pro environmental destruction/increased Road ksi fans folk should be ashamed of this.
@UKVolkswagen
I'm sure everyone in the town is delighted you're parked there! Why reinforce the stereotype of the suv driver's ignorance and selfishness
@caminante_norte
There was reports on local FB pages that a wheelchair user had been seen using this pathway so in true FB group style they got this erected
@david_mccraw
I will never understand why people grapple with this concept. The safety of everyone outside the vehicle (collisions and pollution) does not come 2nd place. If you bring a massive vehicle with you to area like this then expect to be inconvenienced or disallowed.
@allpartycycling
These sentences are what tells the rest of the public that cyclists lives are worth way less than any other individual's. Just because they choose to ride a bike. I ride bikes. My kids ride bikes. The legal system needs reform. And that judge needs sacking.
@cristo_radio
We got home a long time ago using the shared public space efficienctly. We also didn't leave any pollution in the air we all breath nor did we threaten any other road user with our oversized vehicles
@markandcharlie
I thought that the big issue drivers had with cyclists were that we/they (sometimes I walk or drive or bus it) cycle too slowly and hold traffic up. This argument is getting ridiculous fast. Or is it slowly ๐ฅด
@cyclegaz
@SuptAndyCox
A massive thank you to
@cyclegaz
@MikeyCycling
et al for all their efforts and giving cyclists a loud voice, long time viewer and occasional uploader to the Met here. Just need a bit of consistency with the prosecutions.
@ToughMudder
Walked through Finsbury Park today, you've absolutely decemated so much of the grass areas and left thick mud covering some of the pavements. I sure hope you're actively involved in the restoration process and not just leaving it for the tax payer/park users to fix. Are you?
@haringeycouncil
@50cent
@WirelessFest
This should not be coming from a council account! Most of Haringey residents aren't there and DGAF about your enjoyment of a gig. Bad taste given the locals resentment of losing their park for so long
@baoigheallain
@MikeyCycling
JFC!
In the blink of an eye a driver can change your life forever or worse, take your life away and destroy your families. Madness.
Why do we accept this as collateral damage for people who want driver over powered vehicles.
