Been seeing a few photoshoot pics of scantily-clad models draped across motorcycles, purporting to be biker chicks or whatever. Hope
@maja_kenney
will forgive me on International Women's Day for posting this pic of a genuine biker chick who does it for real, and then some! π
My gosh, X is grim these days; nothing but doom, gloom, insanity, depravity and brutality. It's bloody relentless.
So anyway, here's a pic of 2 nice things: a motorcycle and the Lake District π€·ββοΈπ
So DVLA car tax letter says Β£180 for 12 months.
Go on line to do it, it's Β£190.
What other business could get away with this?π€¬
If the personalised letter says 180, 180 it should be.
Bar stewards π
Which new bikes do you remember riding home from the dealer's?
Me: Honda CX500 from Sapphire Motorcycles Staveley, and Honda CBR 1000F from Bill Head Preston.
It's just ALL war and sh1t UK politics on here isn't it?
I wish bikers, at least, would stop it.
So anyway, here's a pic of a trail bike in Yorkshire.
Seen it before? Tough π
After all the discussion about Β£28k bikes and whether they make sense, I'll just say, I bloody love this thing. Does all I need and more, and currently > 80mpg π
Less than Β£7k.
Jeez, made the mistake of looking at my other, non-biking, political account π± Full of utter toxic shite that I can't unsee.
So I'm just going to keep posting stuff like this on here. Seen them before? Boring? Don't care, breath of fresh air, I hope.
Eurosport at it again I see.... Motorcycle racing soon gets the old heave-ho when there's wall to wall tennis & cycling to be had π€¬
(I'm aware BSB is on Quest)
I really think if the only things you have to say about Rossi are nasty comments, now would be quite a good time to shut the F up.
Miserable graceless gits.
That CB1000R was one I wish I'd kept. It was just so damn pretty π
As it was, I bought it new, sold it, bought it back again, sold it again π€¬π€¨π
I know I've said this before, but this thing with cars braking for every slight curve is getting worse! Seen several ridiculous examples today.
We're not talking bends, we're talking slight curves, when speed was very slow even before the braking. I'd love to ask them why π€¬
Superb 750 triple. Never been restored, & owner isn't going to π
By no means perfect close-up. Imported from USA a few years ago, then a serendipitous find for the current owner, who owns a 500 as well. Lucky man and a very nice fellow.
Fave photo of the day on Lady Anne's Road part 2. Shortly after, was joined by 2 guys in a Defender who'd negotiated some tight narrow turns & loose rocks to get there.
OK drivers, here's a radical idea to think about; when you get to a junction why not stop and look to see if anything's coming, instead of hoping or assuming nothing's coming and going straight out?
Difficult idea for some to understand I know π‘π‘π€¬π€¬
So, the jury (me) has chosen the winner of the 2021
trail riding photo competition (only 1 entrant - me).
I (sorry, they), have plumped for this:
One short ride, so many good pics π
Did I ever mention how much fun this is to ride? Because it is, you know.
It was again today.
More fun than 690cc, 71bhp and a skinny 21" front wheel has any right to be π
Twitter's pretty crap just now, so here's a Yamaha XS650. Was a better-looking bike ever made? Not many, I submit.
With modern equipment & reliability too, don't forget.
As I approach the evening of my motorcycling life, I can't decide what to do next: keep the bikes I have, or try something new. The possibilities are endless but...I really do fancy a RE Interceptor π€
On The Pennine Way bound for Hawes; yes this bit's legal to ride π
Bike in its best trim here: no rack, mirrors off, and that lovely, light, slim, but loud Arrow can, which I eventually removed.
#CRF2022
Had my Tenere 700 a couple of months now & still keep going into garage just to look at it.
Guess I chose well then π
(OK, not tweet of the month material, but as good as most on here, so why not π)
Saw a guy jump on a new 'Busa in shorts & gym shoes & ride off. I really can't imagine the thought processes.
Bit later I came within inches of being wiped out at the junction. My fault, just shows how easily it can happen.
VERY lucky to be home now with self & bike in one piece.
Superb unmolested VTR 1000 SP-2 for sale.
There's nowhere round here you could ride it though; the few decent roads are all getting average speed cameras; would be pointless and frustrating.
CCM Silver Spitfire. As said before, not keen on the chopped-off rear, but the workmanship & finish on this is superb. Absolute minimalism, and spotless.
Another from

a few years ago . By no means rare, but definitely eye candy. Rarely has the styling of a bike been so perfect; right up there with 916, RC30 & a few others, imo.
(Bearing in mind it was a bike for the masses, not unaffordable exotica).
My old riding buddy Ray. I often ride past this little quarry where we used to practice; did so today on a current Honda trailly, and thought of Ray, who's now living in Nevada and no longer has bikes (π³). Meanwhile, I'm still riding all our old haunts. I kinda like that π
Thoughts while riding home: it's great to be bimbling around the back lanes on a nice little trail bike again, after all these years.
Counting blessings π
Well that went well! Shock off, collar rotated so grub screw faces out to right, allowing preload to be adjusted in situ. Fully expected to have to pay somebody to do it. Well chuffed ππΎ
Woman in petrol station this morning, all pumps in that row available, stops at the first pump instead of moving along to the far one, which would leave the first one available for others.
They walk among us π€¦ββοΈπ€¬
An area called Cow Close, N Yorks. A great feeling of solitude & big skies up here. Also ideal Tenere 700 terrain (apart from possibly the rocky bit further on π)
Boring tweet: "so what?" you'll probably say:
This bike is PERFECT for me. Just had a bimble up the road for fuel (200+ miles & 5.5 L remaining) then on country lanes to DBKL & back home.
Just SO pleasant to ride & the new "cockpit" is a really nice place to be π₯°
Anybody seriously wanting THE BEST VFR800 Fi pre Vtec out there, speak to Blackpool Honda. At 1st sight I thought it was a brand new final model. Vin Duckett plate on it, they closed over 20 years ago π
Absolutely stunning
Found a place in Carnforth that's mainly a car body shop but also works on motorcycles. Called in this morning, it's within walking distance. This could be life-enhancing.
This all came about by chatting to a complete stranger at Devil's Bridge π (The guy with the Commando)
