Good to see @TheBMA calling for an independent investigation into the National scandal The only thing is it will incriminate @Jeremy_Hunt @NavinaEvans @AmandaPritchard @gmcuk RC boards et al So theyโ€™ll all close ranks and it wonโ€™t be independent Typical NHS sadly

How itโ€™s not a national scandal that PAs are being substituted for doctors is beyond me. 30 hospitals leaked rotas showing PAs on doctor rotas. The public need to be aware of this and need to decide if this is the healthcare service they and their loved ones deserve

Great to see an UK doctor matched to the USA for training. 3-5 years and theyโ€™ll be a consultant. Nawaz would have been slugging it out in the U.K. for another 5-10 years minimum. Thatโ€™s if he cleared all the artificial bottle necks first time. Whilst being paid in claps forโ€ฆ

3 GPs were made redundant this week. Their salaries would have been ยฃ110k ish Weโ€™re seeing 12 PAs being hired at between ยฃ70k-90k If we look at NHS โ€˜productivityโ€™ alone itโ€™ll require 3-4 PAs to replace a GP(with most like worse outcomes) This is about creating a 2 tier system

I have said this before - I run nursing homes. I have a named GP on retainer for each home and a geriatrician that helps the GPs. I do this so we can prevent admissions to the NHS and be proactive with our residents No way would I put a PA into nursing homes as itโ€™s one ofโ€ฆ

Our government is not negotiating with doctors They are using this as a tactic 1) to blame doctors for the wait list 2) pushing people towards private care 3) or letting people die on the wait list This is absolutely disgusting and criminal.

21,000 doctors and public members wrote to MPs about their concerns with regards to PAs/AAs. To put that into context, thats 10x more than those that responded to the 'extensive public consultation' by the GMC/DoH into PA/AAs. Yet all we see is words. Not action.

UK NHS healthcare has deteriorated significantly since I went to medical school in 2004. A key reason why I left in 2015/16 was due to my not being able to deliver the level of care I wanted What I never thought at that time was that doctors will be involved in criminalโ€ฆ

The government want to cut even more beds in the NHS Because 25% cutting of beds was not enough and hasnโ€™t already caused enough harm? They want more of you to suffer harm or die or go out and pay for private healthcare. This is forcing privatisation by desperation.

Only 40% of current primary care appointments happen with a fully qualified GP. This is going to go down to 20-25% in the next 5 years A key enabler of it all has been Dr Gerada. Says one thingโ€ฆ. Does another

NAO report number of fully qualified GPs will rise by only 4% between 2021 and 2036 compared to a 49% rise in the number of consultants. #nhs will fall over if we donโ€™t increase number of GPs as our patients need generalists given the changes in health care needs.
