Attempted to hide identities as much as pos. Sent this and found it too damning not to share. PT presents around 3pm. A doctor doesn’t appear to be contacted for support or help, and instead a Facebook group of PAs (PAAUK) consulted instead. PT in HB sent to a&e not until 6pm.

I thought the whole point of PAs was that they’d stick around on wards liberating doctors to go meet their training needs? 2 year top-up course and you get to do all this. If you’re a doctor, good luck with the competition ratios and the exams and portfolio and rotation.

I’ve worked hard not to be drawn into the PA debate on Twitter, as it’s impossible to have nuanced reflection in limited space. However, as we come to end of the year, I reflect that without the PAs in our dept, service would have collapsed at times. Valued & valuable.

The knowledge gap even between PA & F2 is enormous. The gap only increases with time as F2 knowledge base compound at a much faster rate.

Not the headline I expected... The BMA needs to accept that Labour’s plans to train 7,500 more doctors a year must be met with higher standards for patients. In contrast, other health unions are being reasonable - it’s the government who are stubbornly refusing to negotiate.

Poor usability is largely a consequence of poor design choice made by the EPR providers not clinicians. No One goes on monthly Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram,Tiktok,Google training or use their phones. Yet, we constantly attribute poor usability to poor staff training!!!

@TomPMarshall @RSylvesterTimes @wesstreeting Yet again, a suggestion without proper analysis from Labour team. The backlog is not GPs not referring, it is SC capacity that is creating waiting lists. Similarly SC restrictions on GPs to do xyz, I cant refer for CT Scan, MRI, etc.

Patients time is equally valuable. This problem shouldn't exist, pt should receive automated reminder something like, "your GP will call you in the next 30 minutes" However, the archaic nature of our electronic systems prevents us from this!
