Where is evidence that more pharmacy prescribing will reduce workload of GPs? Fragmented care and net result of more activity won’t help. Far better to sort the small everyday time consuming things eg request to change rx from a 200mg tablet to 2X100mg due to ‘stock shortages’…

🧵We are 79 soon-to-be Doctors who are supposed to be working in the East Midlands, starting in three months. However, we don't yet know what jobs, hospitals or even which city we will be working in. We are distressed, angry and fed up. [1/2]

RCGP Council plans to discuss scope of PAs in #TeamGP in March. I’ve asked NE London RCGP faculty members to give their views. Many have shared and will be taking forward their views to the meeting.

The whole point of royal colleges is to uphold standards of profession If colleges are doing this, allowing a double standard to emerge: Who is/has benefitted? Either we need consistent standards or we don’t. I haven’t yet heard how the @rcgp plan to manage COIs in debate.

I think my docman (GP computer system) crashed 6+ times today. loading is sooooo tedious. if NHS IT was sorted out productivity would increase, frustration decrease, and the sense that someone actually cared would probably bowl me over

oh @JohnLewisRetail . please don't have non evidence based private health screening instore. if it works, the NHS does it. Non evidence based screening just harms individuals and the NHS. long: short:

'innovation' - whenever I hear that word I think: what non evidence based intervention is someone trying to get past the usual regulatory structures that healthcare has evolved to try and make it safer?

Extraordinary response with Secretary of State for Health: The NHS workforce can not be safely expanded by this group of associates with only 2 years of training “it comes to standing up to the unions” It’s now nakedly not about patient safety- it’s about breaking unions

you know those clinics advertising iv vitamin drips for all sorts of non evidence based stuff... I complained about @getadrip , and @ghoshmedical to @ASA_UK , in... January 2019. I challenged "whether the health and efficacy claims ... can be substantiated"

Where is the actual evidence that this will improved quality of services? N What is termed ‘innovation’ by politicians is very often non evidence based stuff that serve patients badly and makes profit elsewhere. Babylon ‘AI’ in the NHS was termed ‘innovation’ ….

🚨 NEW: Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting says that he will hold the front door of the NHS "wide open" for the private sector if Labour win in 2024. He said: “We’re going to be holding the door wide open and encouraging them to come in.”

@trishgreenhalgh @EdTurnham @ProstateUK @trishgreenhalgh Why would you ask Prostate UK over the UK NSC? It is essential that men get high quality information which is clear about the risks - false positives are not a success story. 'Do it guys' is not shared decision making.
