PAs in primary care are funded by the ARRS scheme. This creates economic incentive to have them, even with the very high level of supervision they require for undifferentiated patients. But it also takes space, which is at a premium in GP and could be used to train future GPs.

The move toward ‘reg level’ non-medical ED staff leaves a bad taste because of the double standard with trainees. As a new ED reg, I’ve sat 2 membership exams (a 3rd in 2 months), had to rotate through acute medicine, critical care, and anaesthetics.

Transphobic argument: conversion therapy for trans youth is good, because being trans is bad. People who think they are trans are actually mentally unwell/ autistic/ gay. 80% will be cis, so we should treat 100% of them like liars. These arguments fall apart on cursory glance.
