Not to give this chap more air time than he deserves but what does a “younger woman” mean to him and his ilk? Someone who will look up to him? Defer to him? Or is it purely physical?

I hate this. Imagine being scared to smile in public in case a spy snaps you looking happy & then the photo is used in court to prove you weren’t in pain or depressed? Awful.
@RealKenBruce
Utterly baffled by the BBC, after all you have done & knowing how very loved you are, they couldn’t let you go at a time of your choosing? I’m sorry.

I hate to say it, but I suspect that the words abdominal surgery and 10 to 14 days in hospital will lead to some Google searching and intense speculation as everyone plays Doctor House and tries to figure out what might be wrong with her. It might have been better to just spell

Actually, what is falling is that the teacher failed to use this as a learning opportunity for those boys, giving them an opportunity to reflect.

How many times has she misspoken in the past and people have said nothing? Is it credible to think this is the first time she did this?

I stopped listening to the Today programme after pretty much fifty years continuous listening as I realised that listening to depressing story after story where I could personally do nothing to change the situation was no good for my mental health.

I was bitten by a dog 18 months ago - it took a similar chunk from my arm. I just want you to know that it will take time (5 months in my case) but you will be OK. Sending good wishes.

I would also add “all behaviour is communication”. I have worked with students who can be like this. I remain consistent and calm. I would recommend you read

Far more needs to be done in explaining late abortions. Trump is positioning it as if women are aborting perfectly healthy babies and using abortion as a form of contraception. Much more needs to be communicated about the heartbreaking choices being made by mothers.

JulieR - do you know who Sheku is? Remember the cellist in the Royal Wedding? I think you need to escalate this and deal with it appropriately.

There is another advert aimed at women. What is going on is that we are caring for all ppl in Jersey who need this - recognising that some were missing out. I am proud we are inclusive.
I've researched assisted dying, I've written about assisted dying - but out of the thousands of words that I have read, this simple phrase has stuck with me - "Why on earth do we force dying people to stagger on for a few weeks against their will if they are suffering and want to

When my Father died when I was 29, I was sent to sit at the front of the Crem (family only) they didn’t realise I didn’t have any family so sat alone while my friends all sat at the back feeling awful. I really felt for the Queen today.
My Mum died when I was 21 & Dad died when I was 29. My children’s Father died when they were 12 and 15. Today is an odd day for our family. To all out there, without a Father, I hope that your memories (hopefully happy ones) will provide some comfort.
During the pandemic I kept myself occupied (when not working) by studying for a post grad cert in research methodology. I’ve just received news that I’ve been accepted by Southampton Uni to study for a PhD in Archaeology! So many emotions; ranging from elation to fear and back!

That’s disappointing. I’m so sad for the real hurt that her views will cause to people who feel like a woman, look like a woman and dress like a woman yet, according to JK must be labelled as male which don’t achieve anything other than make their life more difficult.
Proud mum alert! My amazing daughter studied through the holidays and took extra credits during term-time. She has graduated university at 19 years old. I’ve suggested she take a well earned rest.
One of my obsessions is “life in the DDR”. These were really great books. I re-read one of my favourites this year too - Frederick Taylor’s Berlin Wall.

Last time, somebody wrote to me and wrote “Dear Sirs” (while knowing that the majority of the board were female!) I wrote back “Dear Madams”…
I know it’s a contentious issue but at the final analysis, allowing assisted dying for terminally ill people means they can LIVE LONGER. My dear friend Alain will go sooner than he wants as he has to be fit to travel to Dignitas. Let people die with dignity in our island home.
This is my friend Alain. This is why I support assisted dying for terminally ill people.

I hate videos like this. Why can’t parents talk through what they’re going to do in advance and then allow the child to be there to see them shaving off their beard.
I am an adult and I’d still react like that poor little confused child. It’s very destabilising.

Good choice of candidate to put up against Jonny Mercer in Plymouth. I like Jonny but I just wish he wasn’t a Tory, sounds like Fred has got it all. Good call to choose a veteran to go up against him.
