@d_feldman Seattle is indeed a tough rental market, but having roommates decreases rent and lowers credit issues. I had roommates well into my late 30s. This story kinda bothers me b/c there are actually much worse situations and the apt she ended up in is quite nice.

@ArmandDoma I've been an IT contractor in state government. It's really quite messed up. Many, many employees are on the 30 year plan to not get fired. Sure, they complain about their pay, but no way would they ever quit. As a contractor, I can work at like 30% effort and I'm a star.
