This genuinely validates me, the guy who takes 5 seconds to rip out the plastic window on my pasta box before throwing it in the recycling bin

"Four other agencies, along with a national intelligence panel, still judge that it was likely the result of a natural transmission, and two are undecided."
So you have all this outrage because the score flipped from 6-0-2 to 5-1-2?
Getting a bit of "heat" here but wondering if maybe I'm buying a spicier brand of ketchup than others are used to. Do they even sell this brand in America?
@ambienvalent
The grocery store has been intense the past few days, workers having to have the same "no you can only buy two packages of (insert product here)" about once a minute to irate customers the entire shift. Nightmare shit.

And I mean, it's a bit more of a stretch but pregnant women are much more likely to be murdered than non-pregnant women of childbearing age, so I could see a rationale for PP having a gun control position.

My wife was pretty much crowning when the labor a delivery nurses asked her to walk to another room. She did, and when she laid down having obvious contractions, screaming, I finally yelled "does anyone want to take a look at this?!" and they finally checked her to realize.
@prolepeach
Everyone's favorite English teacher at my high school (who I never liked but couldn't nail down why) got busted for child porn a few years after I graduated. He lived across the street from the school. Now he's a registered sex offender.
@Noahpinion
Your argument is basically that Israel needs to continue as an ethnostate because an attempt to become a pluralistic democracy would devolve into ethnic cleansing of Jews if they lose the majority - correct?
@Noahpinion
5 and 1 aren't stories - they aren't heights! They're building code designations! 5 = light wood frame construction, 1 = concrete and steel by international building code
@The_Acumen
The reconciliation bill, with the $1400 stimulus checks, $400/week unemployment benefit boost and extension, and $3000+ per child allowance, will be signed before March 14th.
Give it a few weeks, the reconciliation process takes time and this is going to be the fastest ever.
@AlecStapp
Going full YIMBY + stapling a work permit to every foreigner who graduates college here would result in absolutely explosive economic growth, we'd be catching Japan in no time.
GIANNIS went for 50 tonight, on only 26 attempts in only 30 minutes played, and that's all very cool and impressive
but what's more cool is that it was his 324th game scoring 25 or more.
You know who else has 324 career 25+ point games?
GIANNIS is only 28 years old.
My baby girl was in the NICU for 4 days, for a bill of $94k. My insurance company said the hospital didn't get proper approval and the hospital has to eat it.
Which is great for me, but seems like a bad system. Should probably have Medicare for All instead.
@libsoftiktok
My kids' pediatrician refuses to take patients who won't get vaccinated on the regular CDC schedule - for like, measles and stuff
It rules.

Just remember if you play along with a scammer til they ask you to venmo or cashapp or whatever them money, say "ok" and then send a request for that amount instead of sending it, sometimes they'll be so excited they'll pay you.
@jdcmedlock
Nah, conceive in month 4, (most pre-natal stuff is covered by ACA no deductible) switch to low deductible plan in New year right before birth, have baby, use birth of child as a qualifying event to switch back to high deductible plan.

Going for a repeat of, uh, 18 months ago eh?
Homelessness is a flow problem, not a stock problem. Legalize apartment building construction, the rent is too damn high.

3) That $17k is money her campaign spent on Amtrak tickets - its a campaign expenditure, not donations to her campaign from Amtrak

People who own land 3 blocks from the beach in San Diego should be legally allowed to build housing for people who want to live there, and they aren't. That's the problem.
@mnolangray
*slaps the roof of the 21 miles between San Clemente and Oceanside x 10 miles inland* you could fit so much walkable density in this bad boy
@wendycarrillo
@BoyleHeightsNC
No single plot of land can build enough to solve our housing crisis, that's a ridiculous standard to hold.
But each one can help, if you don't block it.
@katewillett
Big Real Estate wants to protect their high rents from competition. Sam wants to legalize apartment construction to compete with them and bring rents down. You probably agree with him!
Corbin Burnes now has 5 starts this season with 9+ strikeouts, 0 walks, and 0 runs allowed.
That sets the MLB record for starts in a season, 3 others have ever done it 4x. There's 47 games left in the season.
He's done it 7 times in his career. MLB career record is 14.

Because the state of Mississippi would rather do anything with that money they have to spend than give it to the poor people it is designed for.

If you think drivers hate bikes rolling through stop signs you should see how they feel about bikes that come to a complete stop at them.

It's 8 more low income units than are currently on the parking lot and hundreds of units higher income people will live in instead of out bidding existing residents for their current housing.

Our constitution is bad, there's no hope of improving it, and an ideologically coherent Republican party has only just begun exploiting its weaknesses.
@IDoTheThinking

Yeah we can't confuse "fleeing cities because COVID" with "people permanently don't want to be in cities" - remote work allows people to live where they want (in cities) more than ever before!

22 extremely low income apartments that are far cheaper to rent for LA's poor than the few single family houses that were there before.
