@PCarqueville @mgreiler I think it’s important to realize moms in the US are not guaranteed maternity leave. For those lucky enough to have it, often as few as 6 weeks is considered standard. So it’s very easy to end up working full time while the baby is still very young.

Patient is here with laundry list of problems related to uncontrolled diabetes as they can’t afford insulin and supplies. Taking Lantus every 3 days and gave up Humalog all together. Insulin is not some fancy new mystery drug. It should be readily affordable for all who need it!

Staff incurs moral injury in this setting. We know patients, our patients, are getting subpar care because we simply physically can't do that many things at once. We've been set up to fail. If it gets bad enough, some will quit or call outs become excessive, making it all worse.

This will not happen though. If there aren't immediate needs for those beds (or known pending needs like patients in recovery), odds are great the "extra" nurse will be sent home. A few hours later, the ED will fill up and those beds will be assigned. Now 7 RN's have 40 patients

Hospitals need reminded that patients are admitted because they need *nursing* care. They can see a doctor in an office or have a procedure in outpatient setting. They are admitted because their health (via illness or surgery) requires nursing care. No nurses = empty hospital.

@EbonyT_PhD @PGee51 I’ve worked critical access in a predominantly white, impoverished area and those social determinants of health definitely came into play. When you have a lower income, rural (limited access to care) population, they are going to be sicker when they finally get to your door.

@sllarm @DisneyKid1955 @dremilyportermd Grocery cashiers and others in essential retail roles are damn heroes in this whole disaster. They never asked to be surrounded by so much medical risk to their often under appreciated and underpaid jobs. I make sure to thank them all when I can. Pls thank your daughter as well.

@SweetMiorita @SupernovaMomma I’m more concerned about a kid being treated like they are too difficult for normal experiences (like a sleepover with family) than hurting an adult’s feelings around their own parenting skills. Adults can suck it up and learn, kids internalize being bad or “wrong” somehow.

I occasionally wish I lived alone so I don’t feel guilty when I need extra sleep or to just lay in bed to recover from work/life. People always comment on how much I sleep, etc. in a way that makes me feel horrible. My body has issues, my job is crazy hard. I need what I need.

Requiring someone to connect their wallet; before they can see any of your UI or site, is just really poor user experience. People want to be able to poke around a little to get comfortable with your site before connecting and signing transactions, etc.
