The state can't provide a functioning health service, build homes or ensure people are fed/warm. It can't lift a finger against those who come here illegally, sit in traffic or vandalise monuments. What it *can* apparently do is send people to prison for 2 years for silent prayer

MPs have just voted by 297 to 110 in support of the amendment to the Public Order Bill which outlaws *any* form of peaceful demonstration within 150 metres of an abortion facility. Even silent prayer or holding a banner may carry a two-year custodial sentence.

@JamesEsses Have personally come across an incident of a male (identifying as a woman) repeatedly requesting, and getting, a pelvic ultrasound because they insisted they were pregnant. I think the report read something like "there is no uterus present." Just really sad.

Very troubling to see infant baptism treated like this in the CoE. I lose count of Christians in our country who were baptised at birth, came to a more mature faith as younger adults but end up at crypto-baptist churches where their original baptism is denied and done again.

A present issue in my church. Honest opinion is that not only does this absolutely not happen, but you get people thinking it's a venue, rather than an active place of worship. At best it offers temporary financial relief. At worst, it's like using your Bible as a coaster.

Widespread poor adult literacy is visible on a daily basis in my hospital. This does not surprise me. And after decades of supposedly more advanced teaching methods and accessible learning, it seems to be... worsening.

The average UK adult has a reading age of 9, in deprived areas of Birmingham there are so many instances where parents are literally unable to comprehend letters given out by their children’s schools. It’s a far greater crisis than the lack of post-GCSE level maths education
