boomer: how can we get more people your age in church?
me: traditional liturgy, orthodox preaching and teaching, and an emphasis on the sacramental life that is inseparable from community outreach

boomer: I guess there's just no way of knowing what young people want
Anglican church websites be like
8:00 am service
Quiet, said service, no music, uses old weird book, very dull
10:30 am service
All-ages, joyful, amazing music, normal language, lively, come to this one
When I was a kid I once took off my dress during Mass, put it on as a cape, ran down the aisle, and screamed "I just want to light a damn God candle!!" And while the execution may have been flawed, I very much stand by the sentiment
Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est. Congregavit nos in unum Christi amor.
Where charity and love are, there is God. The love of Christ has joined us in one.
Parents: I'm in desperate need of words of encouragement for surviving the newborn stage. My baby (who is a perfect angel whom I adore but also a really, really fussy baby) will not sleep at night and I feel like I'm dying physically and mentally
Call me old fashioned but I don't like when a priest has an entire website dedicated to ~the Divine~ which never mentions God/Jesus Christ and then goes on Twitter to let everyone know they are so much smarter than us idiots who believe the contents of the Bible
Don't raise your children as Anglo-Catholics or expose them to beautiful music and liturgy from birth because they will grow up and be sent to a broadchurch parish and feel utterly homesick and alone during Holy Week
Visiting a Tractarian church in London, 1866: "Then ensued such a scene of theatrical gymnastics, of singing, screaming, genuflections, such a series of strange movements of the priests, their backs almost always to the people, as I never saw before even in a Romish Temple!"
"It goes without saying that loyal churchmen do not allow their children to marry ritualists. Sometimes, however, two persons of a ritualist persuasion will marry each other. Such marriages are deeply unfortunate..."

My beautiful, tiny baby boy was born a week ago today. Please pray for Lawrence.
"Unless the Lord build the house their labour is but lost that build it...
Lo, children and the fruit of the womb are an heritage and gift that cometh of the Lord" (Psalm 127:1,4)
Prayer gang, please pray for my dad who is back in the hospital. Please remember him at Mass this Sunday.
Saint Luke the physician, Saint Benedict, & Saint Margaret of Antioch intercede 🙏
Wedding vendors: Tell us your story! What is the theme of your wedding??
Me: We met serving at Vespers & Benediction and the theme of the wedding is "very religious"
"Flaming desserts make a dramatic treat for children named after St. Laurence" (My Name Day: Come for Dessert, 1962)
Happy feast day! Here are a few recipe ideas:
My dad is in the hospital and no visitors are allowed so he cannot receive Communion today. Pease remember him in your prayers. Eucharistic Heart of Jesus have mercy on us! 🙏
On the bars, I did not deny you, O God.
And when they put me in the fire, I recognised you as the Lord, O Christ.
You have proved my heart, and visited it at night;
You tried me with fire, and found no wickedness in me.

This is Father John J. Brown (Ksistaki-Poka), first full-blooded Blackfoot to be ordained to the Priesthood in the RCC blessing (L to R) Joe Woodcock, Chief Paul Charlo, and Pete Beaverhead, Missoula, MT. 1948. (according to my brief research)
"let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God", I tell my pet bird, as I attempt to put his wings through the holes of his sackcloth robe
For years I thought I was looking lovingly upon a statue of Our Lady Queen of Heaven during Mass until one day it occurred to me that it is actually Saint Louis of France (King Louis IX), for whom the church is named. Oops.
Last week after Evensong someone told me they were uncomfortable with the wrath of God expressed in Psalm 106. I am personally very comfortable with the notion that God is angered by people who sacrifice the blood of children to idols
Small Martha throwing rose petals before the Blessed Sacrament in a Corpus Christi procession at the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, Toronto (c. 2000).
My brother is the MC, my sister is one of the thurfiers, and my dad is in the crowd wearing a seersucker suit and panama hat.
"I feel called to the Priesthood and the Apostolate...the vocation of a Priest! With what love, my Jesus, would I bear Thee in my hand, when my words brought Thee down from Heaven! With what love would I give Thee to souls!"

"At Mass today we had Communion in one kind even though I banged on the Communion rail and screamed 'What about the 39 Articles???' at the Dean!"
-My mother
(N.B. she did not actually do this but no one would have been surprised if she did)
Beth Moore's 87 yo M-I-L died. Any death is sad, but when the person is likely a non-believer, it's heart rending. The obit says "Mary and her husband John were lifelong, devoted Catholics." If Mary believed RC dogma, then she did not believe in justification by faith alone. 1/
Weird that people follow me and then retweet shit about "priestesses" and how disgusted they are by "women's ordination" and I'm getting pretty tired of it. You people are so damn uncharitable.
brb converting to the Church of Rome because, as Our Lord said, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye bully people until they submit to the Bishop of Rome" (S. John 14:35*)
"Hear what comfortable words our Saviour Jesus Christ saith unto all that truly turn to him...actually, nevermind. What He said wasn't that good, I can do better"
"Ritualists are especially eager to hold such complicated weddings because marriage provides a pretext to trick their family members and social acquaintances into attending ritualist worship, as it were by stealth."
Shout-out to my Baptist in-laws!
For those who miss the Lord's Supper:
"No doubt, it is a grace to receive the sacraments. When God does not permit it, it is good too! Everything is a grace!"
-Saint Thérèse of Lisieux
*making small talk with a woman in the waiting room at the doctor's*
Her: what line of work are you in?
Me: I'm a minister
Her: I didn't even realise that was a paid job...I assumed they did that on a volunteer basis

Holocaust denial is an ideology that exists solely to inflict pain and to promote antisemitism.
"Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." (1 John 3:15)
Sounds like a sin to me.
@martyrids
That's the very question I'm challenging; it isn't. Both are historical claims unrelated to divine revelation, and so one is only as crazy or evil for denying one as denying the other if they are both true. But in principle, genuine questions/doubts of these issues are not…
