If the Heard/Depp trial had not been televised, the media would have got hold of it and spun it entirely in Amber's favour. Many people who've read newspaper accounts of trials they attended in UK wonder if it was actually the same trial.

@karenwhybro Did you know that false allegations are recorded under NFA (No further action) so there are no accurate figures of how many falsely accused. Lawyers at the chalk face understand it to be way higher than the figures you quote. Teaching points should be accurate.

A false allegation can devastate and destroy lives on a scale many won't understand. When "Believe victim" means only one side is investigated and supported, and guilt is instant, the damage is boundless. When allegations are linked to receiving money, the injustices are huge.

Justin Bieber is preparing to sue two who accused him of sexual assault on social media. It took me ten minutes of reading through the accusers' social media to see that it was lies. But accusers in UK "lose" phones, "delete all their social media, and police don't even ask why?
