@MichaelRosenYes Hospital workers not only saved lives, comforted the dying & lovingly supported families - they worked to a point of complete physical & emotional exhaustion, all the while risking their own lives. I think that last part is slowly being forgotten.

Maybe I am old fashioned but it has lost the sense that it was a grand statesman of reporting. Too much attention to six-form graphics.

Learnt much from the team about listening to people’s wishes & helping to realise them - including a temporary swimming pool on the hospice lawn with a privacy corridor for a young mother & her children in her last week. Changed me as a doctor

@ElizbethjmSmith @CWGC I visited the CWGC 3 miles outside of Arezzo during a deluge. There was one other person, an old man at the far end of the cemetery. He saw me & walked over. ‘I have just found my brother’s grave. I just wanted to share it with somebody.’ He lunged forwards & hugged me, sobbing.

From Receptionist to HCA to nurses to surgeon - superb. I waited a little longer than I had hoped but the wait was worth it. R
