(2/2) It was a horrific, unexpected arrest in an awkward place. F1s do not just write discharge summaries. They are not apprentices. They are highly qualified, intelligent individuals. I am worth more than £15 an hour. I will strike until I am paid fairly.

Monday I was the only F1 covering all medical wards at work. There was a cardiac arrest after my shift ended which I attended. Tuesday, I finished my shift performing CPR on a gentleman who deteriorated unexpectedly. I was the one who decided to escalate. (1/2)

We seriously need to get rid of the term ‘junior’ doctor. After speaking to my grandparents (who are relatively well educated!) it was clear they had NO idea what a junior doctor was. They were shocked when I told them a ‘junior’ was likely to be operating on them next week.

@ROBERTF14823757 It is simply not sustainable, you are being bleeped every few minutes for tasks, whilst trying to do tasks you’ve been handed over. And that’s in between MET calls and cardiac arrests.

@RobsonCarol Carol, they know this. They can’t get cover as they offer such terrible rates. They just leave Rota gaps. In my case this was not a rota gap and was deemed normal staffing. This has been raised as an issue previously, and I have raised it again.

@ROBERTF14823757 May I also add: the pressure on our SHOs and Reg’s is much greater. These are SENIOR doctors who carry a lot of responsibility; the latter often the most senior on site. The amount of bleeps they receive is frankly ridiculous- yet they are supposed to just suck it up.

Absolute kick in the teeth re juniors (anyone below cons, so not really junior!) being excluded from pay restoration. Solidified my decision that I will not be staying in the NHS when I graduate next year. USMLE booked. Sad that I’m planning to leave the NHS before my career(1/2)

Something I really struggle to understand is why people are so averse to paying Doctors properly. What do you think is going to happen? We are already haemorrhaging doctors, and if pay restoration is not achieved then we will lose more. (1/2)

Bad take. Just perpetuates the ‘push yourself until you have nothing left to give’ So either until your health gives on or the system bleeds you dry. Where’s the line? This isn’t resilience. This is stupidity.

Already know this doctor will not be white without reading this. When we are haemorraging doctors, waiting lists are longer than ever and burn out/MH among HC staff is at at its lowest- this really wasn't a clever move. Maybe @gmcuk needs to reflect itself.

A Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetist has been suspended for 6 months for using his wife’s travel pass on the Tube. When caught, he admitted it immediately and took the fine on the chin. Not even a hint of a patient safety issue here. Absolutely pathetic.

Just took my fleece off, with it took my t-shirt off. Took me a whole 20s to realise I was sat in the library with just a bra on. I should really go home
