So, the government spent £3bn the past year managing the doctors' strikes. Now, they find themselves £4.5bn short, when all that was needed to settle the dispute was £1bn. To mitigate this, they want to *checks notes* spend even less on doctors, making more strikes inevitable.

So, she gets flustered when asked why PAs earn more than doctors, then tries to spin it when pressed. For clarity, let's compare like-for-like, for 40 hours a week, Mon-Fri. Day 1 PA: £43,742 Day 1 Doctor: £32,398 Enough dishonesty, this will all come falling on your heads.

Excellent suggestion. Scrap the PA role. Spend the PA money on employing and training more nurses. Improve nursing pay and up-skill the ones we currently have to be able to reliably do bloods, cannulas, catheters, NGs, ECGs. Free up doctors. Improve working conditions.

Why are doctors' wages compared with the average worker and not with professionals of similar calibre and worth e.g. lawyers? Doctors deserve to be well-paid. Sorry if this is news. If the NHS won't pay then I'm happy for it all to be privatised and for Debz to foot the bill.

Went from 0% to 13% pay increase in under a year, with the government saying they won't negotiate further at every checkpoint. Strikes have cost the government over £2 billion so far. Cost of full pay restoration would've been £1 billion. Them's the facts I'm afraid.

Doctors are on a separate pay spine and have seen greater pay cuts compared to other NHS staff. Doctors are advocating for themselves to reverse this. I acknowledge other NHS staff's pay is abysmal, and if they choose to advocate for themselves I will support them.
