Why cant millennials afford homes?

Now tell us we are lazy.
Waiting for the storm to hit is painful. Knowing what is coming feels unreal. Watching the general public hoard food, ignore advice and continue to spread this virus, knowing that in just weeks we will be seeing mass fatalities, its infuriating, depressing and, frankly, enraging.
Doctor: makes one drug error in 1000, patient dies, negligence manslaughter charge, career over.
Government: makes series of errors, places economy over lives, knowingly ignore risk, thousands die, nothing happens.
Tell a man covered in blood to his shoulders, who tried his damndest to save a life, who then had to go back to work as if nothing happened, "to be less stroppy."
That was me. For £14 an hour.
Fuck off.
Doctors are asking for £19 and hour for their day job.
Ex-health sec Matt Hancock is asking for £1500 an hour for a second job.
But, of course, we are the "greedy ones."
Six things to remember about medicine;
1. Vaccines dont cause autism.
2. Vitamin pills are usually just end up as expensive urine.
3. Antibiotics don't work on colds.
4. CPR doesn't work like on TV.
5. Homeopathy is not medicine.
6. Treatment may take time to work.
You may not like Starmer, but is your dislike worth another decade of conservative rule. Politics is not about your perfect wish, it is about moving slowly forward.
Odd time in Britain. The youth are seen as entitled, yet poverty is at record highs. The left are seen as anarchists, yet most ask for democracy. Corbyn is called a terrorist, whilst May sells bombs to whoever will buy, and nurses are called elites, whilst using food banks.
Yeah so I am still going to wear a mask. No bother for me, protects others, warm in winter.
Also, I look better with half my face covered.
Retweet if you will join me.
Just spoke at length to people protesting

vaccine in teenagers. They held placards quoting MHRA death figures and asking why the media was complicit. Here is a little more on what came up
Pssst..
Im 31 and still have no idea which of the three troughs on the washing machine are for the detergent, so I just use all three and then run away
Britain, during the Blitz.
Sir, please turn off your light. The bombers are coming.
Dave: No. Its an infringement of my liberty. How do you even know bombs can kill? Have you ever met a bomb? I walk into furniture when its dark. If we turn off the lights the bombs win.
@stillgray
It saddens me that you could be proud of this tweet. You find something empowering and inclusive and have to make it about your own taste. Just leave it be. Does not concern nor hurt you in any way.
I have deleted a tweet where I called GB News "f

snowflakes" for apologising about a presenter "taking the knee."
Those who complained to my employer were right, swears are bad. No doctors should swear ever, especially when it comes to racism.
I am the bad guy here
Quite frankly, I am ashamed to live in a country who would force hard working immigrants to apply for the very house they own, based on a vote we know to be marred by lies and led by bigots.
So, I did this last year, but again, ffs.
1) Vaccines do not cause autism.
2) Homeopathy has no medical effect.
3) Astrology is made up and useless.
4) Healing crystals are just shiny rocks.
5) The earth is an oblate spheroid.
6) Climate change is real and we need to fix it.
Costa coffee: you cant come in without proof of vaccination.
Anti-vaxxers:

!!!
Costa coffee: oh no, losing the very customers we are banning.
A march against genocide is not a hate march. A sit in at a rail station is not a terrorist act. Asking for a ceasefire to save children is not antisemitism. It is in the spirit of Armistice to lay down arms, so this is not a desecration, it is an echo.
I agree with the Prime Minister. It is entirely unacceptable to desecrate Armistice Day with a hate march through London.
If it goes ahead there is an obvious risk of serious public disorder, violence and damage as well as giving offence to millions of decent British people. 1/2
As a doctor I will say this:
Vaccines save lives.
"Herd" immunity protects all of us. Including children.
Measles can be fatal, and killed millions before vaccines.
Katie does not care about your children.
Reckless, selfish and irresponsible.

about the 72 hour junior doctors strike in England
Today I lost a family member.
Never wait to tell someone that you love them.
Never leave words unsaid.
The parting of the ways may be sudden, but moments can last forever.
RIP.

Sharon, do you stand by him accusing a woman of lying about suicidal thoughts and suffering? Do you really? Do you see the harm in this? Doubting the severity of suffering? Normalising cynicism? How many will be dissuaded from asking for help? Is this really your Alamo?
All this fuss over asking men if they are pregnant on screening forms.
Usually goes like this
Me: "Any chance you could be pregnant?" (Raised eyebrow)
Man: haha, no.
Me: "Its just the form mate."
Man: yeah I get it.
Never once had a bloke start ranting about it.
@SadiqKhan
I think the people who just managed to tantrum our way out of a prosperous economic union and yet maintain their tax havens should probably stop whining about people who save lives and ethnic minorities. Put a middle finger in the sky next time chief.
The owner of the Daily Mail, Jonathan Harmsworth ,4th Viscount Rothermere, has a net worth of over £700 million.
His paper is currently shaming the junior doctor leading the strikes for owning a house and going on holiday.
Perspective matters.
5% is not fair or reasonable. Can you explain, why over the same time period, MP pay has risen from £65, 738 to £86,584 (30.2%)? Why are you and other MP's worth 30% but NHS staff 5%?
(, )
It is disappointing that
@BMA_JuniorDocs
have decided to call for more strike action.
We made a fair and reasonable offer, and were in active discussions on a range of issues.
I am still keen to continue talks if these hugely disruptive strikes are called off.

It means anybody below consultant. It does not mean medical students. Do not be misled by the news.
And no, fy1's are not on £40,000.
Because I guarantee you, in a few weeks you will all be asking why the doctors didnt do enough, and we will tell you that this wasnt just on us, its on you too.
So please. Help us.
But this is different. We are warning you, not just to protect yourself, but others. The selfishness of those who dont want to miss a party, or their saturday catch up, could spread an illness that kills someone.
@KayBurley
He didn't, Kay. I can see the narrative you were going for, as did he. You may have well asked him "will there be violence", he would have said "No" and then blah blah blah the term would be in the news.
@TheFreds
So, in my role as a mental health doctor, my choice to wear a mask, taken in the motivation to protect myself and others, as enshrined within the HRA, and influenced by my education, makes me superfluous? Do you think this is rational? Or helpful?
Wearing a mask is not "living in fear," its recognising risk and acting like an adult. The real fear is the juvenile nature of those who believe wearing cloth is a sign of weakness.
The real problem here is feeling powerless, ignored and oppressed. This is how charlatans exploit people. This is how fascism begins. This is how people forget that their fellow humans are equal. We must help people understand.
Am I scared? Not for me, but for those we cant save because the public wont listen. Am I angry? Yes, for those who will be infected due to the ignorance of others.
Lord Sumption to a lady with stage 4 cancer:
'I didn't say your life was not valuable, I said it was less valuable.'
Let's really break this down and realise just how awful a statement it is and the repercussions it may have..
I welcome
@RishiSunak
to do one night shift with a junior doctor and then, without lying through his teeth, claim that £20 an hour is unreasonable.
To treat the public sector with such disdain tell us one thing; he is not fit to lead.
Us NHS staff dont ask much. We work hard. We put our lives on the line. We miss our children. We exhaust ourselves daily. But we do it because we hope we make a difference. And we ask nothing back except that you trust us. And thats an honour for us.
@KayBurley
I wont tell you how to report the news, you know better than me. But I will say I am tired of this approach of inventing potential outcomes for emotional resonance, vs the realistic and boring truth. Not everything has to be fantastic to be relevant.
Hey
@SteveBarclay
You guys cut our pay by 25%.
You also spent £37 billion on TEST and trace, £100 billion a year on brexit and £180 million on expenses in just 3 years.
Buddy, you have the money. You just choose to keep it for yourselves.
Let us hope that they fire me and undo several years of training for this grievous harm against a social media entity. I am sure all of the people I have helped would be ashamed that I took a stand against racism and did a swear. Clearly, my career is reducible to some tweet.
We need you to step up. Social distance if you are well, isolate and call 111 if you are not. Break this cycle of ignorance and with it the chain of infection. Help us to help you.
RIP Martha

Loved, loving, and never forgotten.
Passed calmly in my arms this afternoon after a long and valued life.
One's soul can be hurt, but never lost. And one's heart broken, but always filled.
Love you baby girl.
And then I walk past the gym..packed. I use the tube, packed. I see people milling in groups, walking around without a care in the world. I hear them mention the virus in passing, then gossip about their dating, as if its a mere inconvenience to them.
Unpopular opinion: Doctors asking for a bigger salary than nurses is not an insult to nurses, it is a recognition of the difference in job roles, expectations, level of training, risk, and responsibility.
No doctor would survive without nurses, but our roles are different.
But this, knowing that the public, that we give so much to, cant even make a temporary change to stop this infection, to help us protect the weak and the frail, its not just depressing, its insulting. And yet,we will be there for you.
Fuck it
1) Antimaskers will cost lives
2) brexit is dumb
3) tory leaders are liars
4) ppe contracts were cronyism
5) track and trace was privatised
6) a 4 week lockdown is needed
7) asylum seekers > home office
8) gov hates the poor
9) the blitz isnt relevant
10) we need experts
£27,000 in deliveroo smuggled in to Number 10 whilst poor subsist on handouts, nurses on foodbanks and government friends make millions off dodgy PPE contracts.
All of this during a pandemic.

I work in mental health. Suicide, and thoughts of it, are always serious. Ignoring this leads to death. Preventable, tragic and regrettable death. The loss of a father, son, daughter, mother. A job can be replaced. A life cannot. Imagine it was someone you love.
Many doctors I speak to are used to being taken for granted. Many of us have been abused, screamed at, insulted, threatened and maligned. We accept it, because we know that those we help are at the extreme of suffering.
So this deserves a proper takedown. Allow me.
1) Autistic spectrum disorder is range of neurodevelopmental patterns and cognitive abilities. Some higher functioning people may be scientists, and sometimes these thinking patterns can be helpful.
I dream of a world educated enough to look at the Daily Mail and be able to know why so much of it is bollocks.
And it's a dream easily lived. Just bloody teach critical thinking.
Yes I am in favour of mandatory vaccinations.
The same way I am in favour of sewage systems, antibiotics and not killing each other. Safety saves lives. Responsibility saves lives.
Yes, it may annoy parents. Better annoyed parent than a dead child.
