I am a specialty registrar in Anaesthetics in South Yorkshire. I am triple vaccinated because I know it’s one of the biggest things I can do to protect my patients, loved ones and myself. Most patients I see on HDU/ICU now are unvaccinated #VaccinesWork #GetVaccinated

Feeling incredibly well supported after an extremely difficult day in theatre over the weekend. Multiple consultants personally reaching out and offers of shift cover if needed. Things like this really make a difference 🙏🏻

Having marginally missed the mark at each stage of Anaesthetic training so far, the Final FRCA is no different. Still, being 1 mark off the Viva is pretty painful (vast improvement of 1 mark!) Failure is a verb, not a noun, and doesn’t define me. Anyway, time for a holiday..🌞

Trying to process an exhausting ICU weekend with multiple breaking bad news conversations. There’s only so much human grief/suffering anyone can absorb in a 48h period. This is why I can’t do ICU long term and can see why there’s such a high burnout rate 😞

Despite a few cancellations we managed to get 23 procedures done today on the ENT rapid list. Parents pleased as schools have broken up and everybody should hopefully be recovered for Christmas! The ENT rapid list has now delivered 235 operations on just 10 lists.

Just watched #breathtaking I remember making PPE using builder’s masks and goggles; crash intubating a lady begging for a vaccine only to die just hours later; looking after sick colleagues on ITU; worrying I would take the virus home and kill my own family. I’ll always remember
