I don't think I can stay on this site much longer in good conscience, thanks to Elon's latest unhinged craziness (letting back on Nazis, banning journalists, banning even mere mention of competing social networks, etc.). You know where to find me; it's in my display name.
@mornings0da
If Garry is looping, then he will always play the same move in a given position. You can simply go into the game, take notes, and eventually figure out a sequence of moves to play that causes him to make a mistake.
You basically get infinite redos and he gets none.
@realmordinsolus
@mornings0da
You are his opponent. You do the same thing every game until you find a winning path!
I swear y'all are NOT understanding the premise that this is a Groundhog Day situation.
@realmordinsolus
@mornings0da
If you know he's going to play the same move in the same situation, then you just need to keep playing until you figure out a series of moves that is better.
@MrKovalenko
WTF did they do?! My understanding is that the area around Chernobyl is no longer that radioactive. Did they go poking around inside the sarcophagus??
@GaryWinslett
@AlecStapp
Because they don't actually want to have to do their job. Not checking the video is still a lot easier for them than actually acquiring it and binary-search-viewing it.
@tomselliott
@MelnykAndrij
@elonmusk
Really? You do? You think it'd be a good thing if the owner of an Internet Service Provider cut off the access of anyone who disagreed with them?
That sounds pretty terrible, actually, and isn't a service I would ever use. And I bet you'd scream "CENSORSHIP!" if it targeted you
@rocky_here
@AnaCabrera
Words matter. There are plenty of different words that mean Black, but I bet you don't go around using all of them interchangeably because they "mean the same thing".
@zinjanthropus64
@mornings0da
The same exact thing happened every day in Groundhog Day. It's a time loop.
Garry will play the exact same opening every time, not even realizing that he's already done this many times before. From his POV there's nothing to vary.
@glowballist
@Noahpinion
We're way out of practice with it.
Also quite frankly it's not worth getting good at again as the guns and artillery will come out long before formation melee will achieve any meaningful gains.
I'll never forget the Manhattan Community Board I attended on the topic of a protected bike lane on Central Park West. The parents of a female cyclist who died on that very road spoke up in favor of the bike lane and were BOOED by local NIMBYs who didn't want to lose parking.
For safe streets advocates:
Your rage is correct. The drivers are wrong. They will gaslight you and make excuses and fall back on their immoral demand for convenience as justification for this slaughter.
Ignore them all. Use your rage. It is telling you the truth.
@zamiang
Lol can you even imagine how miserable an errand run by cat with this many stops would be? You'd spend 30% of your time being traffic, 40% looking for parking, 20% walking to/from your car, and only 10% actually shopping.
@nebuchadezzar6
@Superninfreak
@ellymelly
That's very obviously not a nuclear plant. See all those elevated conveyor belts? They're moving coal around. This is clearly a coal burning power plant.
@YoungerPope
@The_Law_Boy
Indeed. Most of them aren't "hardcore", they just can't leave quite yet, and desperately need to buy time while they job search. Anyone on a visa at Twitter will *jump* at the first opportunity to move to another company that will sponsor them.
@theswedishguiri
@The_Law_Boy
Yup. It's much better for the overall health of a city to have visitors staying in purpose-specific hotels than competing with everyone else for the limited amount of long-term housing stock.
@Slagles_Bagels
@willshipman
100%. The last time I moved I spent a few hours outside guarding my stuff while the movers were taking it up. They thought that was weird?? Meanwhile my friend had a box of his stuff go missing during his last move and I caught a woman nosily investigating a box of my stuff!
@Possum_squirrel
@umichvoter
You're not understanding that these protests are counterproductive because they're causing ordinary people to think these protesters are lunatics, which is tarring the associated cause they're attempting to advocate for.
@John123Aj
@YIMBYLAND
The housing shortage is so bad in many cities that MOST of the children who grow up in those cities cannot afford to live in them as adults with anything close to the standard of living they grew up with (i.e. being able to own a home).
Is this acceptable to you?
@FultonRecovery_
@chiweethedog
The 2011 Japanese tsunami killed 20,000 people so this is not something you want to play around with. If you see a big wave coming like this, just run as fast as possible and keep running.
@elaifresh
I don't even understand where he's coming from. I see construction workers going to and from jobs on the subway all the time, nothing special about it. They're not gonna find parking spots at the job site anyway!
@kendrictonn
It was literally called Endgame. That was it, the end. The endgame of superhero movies. Haven't seen a single one since, or felt like I was missing out on anything by not seeing one.
@ArmandDoma
Ah yes, meth and crack, famously drugs that never killed anyone.
Maybe less dangerous than fentanyl on a per-dose basis, but that's a low bar.
@TheeStickFigure
@yungprofessorr
@iamlexstylz
@MalanasQueendom
This is some crab mentality thinking though. Focus your anger on the actual oppressive groups doing wrong, not the other persecuted minority that got a little bit luckier than you did (if you can call experiencing the Holocaust lucky).
@OSINT88
"Apparently all crew are off safe" -- of course. This commonly happens when you're struck by two missiles that cause secondary explosions in your magazine. That never killed anyone.
@momojabang
@SexHavery
That's where all the melting ice that is raising the ocean level is coming from. Antarctica is a continent (land mass), not just floating ice in the ocean.
Or were you dunking on it to begin with and all these replies are superfluous?
@RALee85
I've been wondering since the first day of this war where the hell all the IED attacks on those Russian columns were. We're finally seeing lots of them now that the Russians are maximally over-extended and it's easy to get access to a convoy route somewhere.
@wanyeburkett
The obvious answer is that if you're going to spend a lot of time and effort, and take on a lot of personal risk, to build a thing, it doesn't make sense to share the rewards with lots of other people who didn't do the same.
@thrasherxy
You're leaving out so much in your post.
Like that Trump was already out of office before the first big nationwide death spike (early 2021, winter).
And Trump was in office for less than a year of COVID, whereas it's been around for all of Biden's term.
@JesseNeilson
Boomers will do anything, ANYTHING, except allow more housing to be built for younger generations. That's the one thing they cannot STAND.
@skirani
If you can't mentor anyone, nor explain how to do thinks, nor delegate work, nor do interviews, then you're really a 0.1X engineer, not a 10X engineer. You're a force absorber, not a force multiplier.
@1m_chart
@anothercohen
@par94
It shouldn't be common, it's textbook fraud. Note that we aren't talking about manufactured spending for the purpose of earning credit card rewards points (which is legal but banks don't like). We're talking about committing fraud and lying in docs used to obtain a loan.
@rickasaurus
@RamboOfCalrisia
@RiverTamYDN
Ah, yes, the boss should likely do something like that to protect themselves.
But the employee should NEVER be telling their married boss this in the first place.
@constans
Information hazards are real. You should be older and more set in your ways than that before you learn about every last info hazard you didn't already know. "Here's how to do eating disorders" certainly qualifies.
@modernsexmotel
@whstancil
@Schmutz_5R
This is a dumb "only online" attempted own though because his height is what it is and anyone could trivially verify it simply by meeting him. Also it doesn't even matter.
By continuing to press on this you're just making yourself look silly.
@UnterrifiedJeff
@GarrettPetersen
The key part you're missing about why this doesn't work in the real world is time travel. Garry doesn't remember the previous games.
@brooklynpaper
@BKBoroHall
Ah yes, housing for hundreds of people, or one McDonalds, that could itself just be a ground level retail tenant of an apartment buildings providing housing for hundreds of people. This is insanity, and exactly how you create a housing crisis.
@CodyLonning
@JoshuaPHilll
Living in your office sounds like absolute hell.
Now if we're gonna let the homeless sleep in Twitter offices then I'm all for it. No employees though, just homeless.
@slifkasteve
@BPEricAdams
Seriously, I have a great way to get way more than 500 additional cops in the subway system every day: Take away all the bullshit placards and seized sidewalk space near police stations and make all those cops take the subway to work like the rest of us.
@adamislucky
@Aella_Girl
I'm guessing the people who pick that option would reject that characterization and claim that the children could consent to it 😬
@agraybee
Netanyahu has done Israel zero favors by catering to these yahoos. They need to go back to some internationally agreed upon border (like the 1967 green line), and leave the rest of it alone except for justified retaliation like the present war.
@Kierand99
We need a new name for this faux-OSINT, as it's not really open source intelligence since its purpose is to deceive rather than collaborate and enlighten. OSPROP, for open source propaganda?
@gudbuytjames
@LegoRacers2
It's a myth that more spending will help. SF is spending the median American income per homeless person on social services and the problem is just getting worse.
@havethelastward
@zillowgonewild
These aren't external modifications. This was custom-built to be exactly what you see here. If you don't want a castle, buy literally any other house.
@CarrieCnh12
Semaglutide is not inherently an anti-diabetes drug only. The molecule does whatever it does, and is highly effective against obesity. It could've just as easily been discovered first as an anti-obesity drug, in which case would you be railing against off label diabetes use?
@nikicaga
The conservatives *always* attack every single woman who's hot and vaguely associated with Democrats. It's basic misogyny, pure and simple. I don't even look into it any farther than that.
@alex011801
@ne0liberal
It's not true. Rural living is significantly more energy intensive. Unless you're going to reduce the standard of living to the point where these rural folk don't have cars or HVAC or get shipped goods, their carbon emissions will be significantly higher than city dwellers.
@BunchIzeck
@SwannMarcus89
@Empty_America
Doubt it. Wanting to provide military support to defeat the Russians is way more male-coded than it is female-coded. Women generally just want peace at any cost.
@F1_For_Help
@koehrm
@darkfeath3r_ray
@RealDJCthulhu
It's an unlikely scenario, and it probably got cut in the race to get the game out the door. They figured it was rare and thus not worth spending lots of time on, when they still had so many other things to finish up.
@rickasaurus
@RiverTamYDN
Why would you rat yourself out to HR? That's the last thing you should ever do in any circumstance. Only bad can come from this!
The answer is to suck it up and deal with it. If monks can be life-long celibate, you can be celibate with one person who isn't even reciprocating.
@JCleverOne
@armando1987dim
@impiac
And that, by contrast, he does not, and thus is going to have to charge hundreds of dollars less per month. He is now effectively in the market of renting out lower tier, affordable housing, thanks to competition from recent construction of "luxury" housing to satisfy the top end
@c5nt5r__l5ft1st
@rockhoundzs
@MaxGhenis
And, crucially, "want to live" is not factors like "I need to live near the beach", it's more like "I need to live somewhere that has decent paying jobs so I can support my family."
@sam_d_1995
Newsflash: Landlords can use StreetEasy too, and see comps in the neighborhood when setting their rent.
Who thinks there's anyone who can't see the supply of housing in this market?? It's pretty obvious!
