A Tale of Two Knives. Both are hollow-ground carbon steel. But what are the key differences between my 2 models? The Nessmuk on the bottom is a classic modified skinner, with a slight point on it. Notice that the entire blade is curved, it's all "belly" in knife terms. VB…

The death of Adult nightlife is another weird thing. My grandparents gave/attended cocktail parties that went until the wee hours until at least their 60s. Nightclubs were also a thing for adults. Now American nightlife is lame and tends to end in one's 30s, if not before.

This is the most "American" video ever made. It's the combination of the food, her appearance/mannerisms, and the expensive new kitchen. Working class people eating tatter-tot casserole in a physical environment that couldn't be afforded by a Doctor in Europe.

"Kingdom of Heaven" was arguably the Last Movie in the lineage going back to old Hollywood. Intense attention to color, costuming, sets, large cast, beautiful stars. Almost everything after it was a combination of tasteless CGI effects, weird casting, and "grey" filming style.

The primitive horse was quite small, really a pony. Likewise, should be possible to breed ostriches to be 50% larger and thus make them really usable mounts. Indeed, prehistoric ostrich were up to 1,000lbs. .

Before a certain date, Americans had essentially zero body modesty in same-sex settings. If you read an old book and they talk about "swimming" it means what we would call skinny-dipping. Old Barracks and locker rooms have open shower rooms and group toilets.

Much of what we see today in America isn't really "high trust" or "low trust" society. It's more like an exploitation of high trust norms. In actual low trust society, you can't harass people on public transit, or "peacefully" roadblock. People will beat/shoot you.

At least part of the reason that White people no longer produce many street gangs is that there is almost nowhere where whites are *young enough* and *dense enough* to generate a critical mass of young male criminals.

The other thing nobody wants to talk about is the extreme rates of orthopedic injury in girl's HS sports. Nearly every participant is intermittenly injured, in knee braces, surgery is not uncommon in HS kids. Often with lifelong consequences. For what?

My Dad (94) remembers that people born in the 1800s were really "different." Pre-WWII American could be a very hard, violent, and clannish place. Hyper-capitalist also. The culture of niceness and broad social trust came in with the post war boom.

This isn't even weird or ironic. Most NFL players were built on fast food. The glut of protein, fat, and calories is basically why the NFL as we know it exists. Usain Bolt ate nothing but McDonalds at the 2008 Olympics.

You know what Americans really like? Acreage properties. You can look at the most remote/depressed/no job counties in the USA and there will be high $ acreage properties. For many, an acreage property is the Dream. Always in demand, never cheap, anywhere.

The grocery looting is part of a bigger thing where the illusion of police power has been broken. Various groups (inner city criminals, anti-fa) have discovered that if you can get together 20+ people, the police stand down. You can block highways, burn down buildings, etc.
