@drcolinm This is awful representation of the medical act. In 1983 that term referred to doctors. You now appear to conflate the issue with non-medical staff. All others are looked after by the HCP and I, as well as other believe that it should not be OUR GMC.

You either need your FRCA, FICM, or FRCS to be a semi independent registrar, or you don’t. If you take it to its full logical conclusion, why not just get rid of all medical schools?

You cannot predict complexity of a list, hence nothing is appropriate for an AA. My hospital has voted unanimously to not having them.

The only reliable data we have surrounding the effects of PAs on Doctors and patients is strongly negative. It is reprehensible that the GMC/colleges would ignore this and plough ahead with endorsing expansion. This whole report is eye opening. They’ll still try to ignore it.

ICM has been hugely oversubscribed and popular this intake. We are also having an expansion of the training scheme with some national funding. I am absolutely sure that there will be ‘spare’ anaesthetic post, once ICM has been accepted..

@cannula_service @VirtueOfNothing I am personally glad about the results. This should help cement how inappropriate the AA expansion is and not just slow or halt this process, but remove it entirely. Glad to be a member of the RCoA and not the RCP or RCGP!!

@mmamas1973 I see the sickest of the undifferentiated patients for over 20years. Quite rightly, I should not act as a General Practioner or a Surgeon or any other specialty. Put this group of MAPs can!!??? Make it make sense!! Just all stop this expansion!!

@iDrSunny @caroll_ste87889 As per stated before by myself and others, there is not a single PA or AA that is comparable to a doctor.I never compare litigation rates or death rates or anything else. They are simply not comparable.We are ending up with a poorer NHS,with Dr expansion, being kerbed and MAPS 🔝
