@JovankaBeckles What is wrong with creating housing for students and homeless? Sounds like a big win. As far as the 45%, that is a reflection of the number of students at the university. So if this building shouldn’t be built, then you should be advocating building some place else. But we have…

@growing_daniel Yeah, but what’s wrong with more modes of transport? 1. HSR is faster for medium distance because it takes you closer into the city 2. More comfortable for all distances. 3. Huge throughput 4. Energy wise it’s a home run But it sucks that all the infra needs to be built

@d_feldman It’s both. You’ll be shocked how people are treated ‘differently’ in India when they do a labor job. No, I’m not talking about the caste system In the US go to the n’hood dive and you’ll find people of diff professions sitting next to each other enjoying a beer. Not so in India

@IDoTheThinking An issue is most people(even in SF) look at transit as something poor people use. That needs to change, but also transit solutions need to make our commutes twice as fast as cars (not slower), so that it appeals to someone of more means. SF Muni is often slower than a bicycle.

@vkhosla Rail is convenient when built well. It’s also very tech advanced, Japan is now building a 500kmph train. HSR is much faster than a car, comparable with plane or shorter for the point-to-point trip, more comfortable, less energy consumed, can use electricity therefore being more…
