3. This study of 20 samples over 15 yrs is not enough to support @JoTrust claim - for publicity? It's really wrong to mislead women, esp as so many don't understand/ can't name their own anatomy. Drs who prescribe hormones for transmen/ non binary can inform them about smears.

Is it just me, or do other people feel that we need to tell our PM to TAKE SICK LEAVE if he is going to #GetWellBoris ? Nobody in hospital should be working, nothing is more important than getting better. If you are ill (which he must be), his judgement is impaired (by definition)

There was a totally overlooked trial in @NEJM this week with jaw-dropping results. The question: how should we diagnose diabetes in pregnancy? 23,792 pregnant women randomized to receive either 1-step or 2-step screening for gestational diabetes. /1

Few obstetricians are insightful & educated enough to insist what 'works' needs proving. Whether measuring FMs (AFFIRM) or realising the CTG is not a benign intervention (screen or diagnosis), it's an uphill struggle to wean them & vested interests (inc ML/safety 'experts') off

Goodness, we had almost complete congruity in RCOG/ RCM/ NICE guidance about the safety of home birth in low risk, but still DM say its 'controversial'. It might have been a news first to say 'non-controversial' @SandallJane @BerksMaternity @millihill
