@IRHotTakes I think the problem with the model is clearest with Stellaris, which seems to simply be a vaguely different game every time I play. From a single-player perspective, the way the mechanics are constantly bending to perpetuate multiplayer engagement really breaks immersion.

Except in the mountainous west where the subspecies of brown bear called the grizzly bear lives, the bears in North America are black bears, a smaller and less territorial animal which, unless seeking to hunt and kill human prey, is less dangerous.
