Respectfully as a reporter full accuracy is important. Normal service on 🟡🟢🔵⚪️🟠🚇 & on Glenmont-Gallery side of 🔴. Lots of bus shuttles to cover gap btw DuPont-Gallery on other side. We do move ~400k/day on 🚌 so lots of people use that too. Lots of access to middle of city.

Bigger question is why transit agencies are forced to wrap bus/trains at all to generate funding. Can’t remember the last time I saw a fire truck or ambulance wrapped with ads to help fund itself. 🤷‍♂️

Are zero emission buses great, yes…but if we want to be really green we need more people riding any type of bus. And that means we need a network and frequency that works for our region. Our goal should be to fund transit to run more service at more times/days/locations.

A great way to celebrate 15 yr anniversary @Filomena_DC . We met on the @mbta subway and she’s been traveling all over the world riding 🚌🚇 so perfect way to get home on @wmata @Metrobusinfo tonight! I’m a lucky guy and thankful for such a great life partner.

Credibility is based on honesty. While #wmata service has improved & is generally good, today the 🔴🚇 was bad, and we own that. Team worked very hard to isolate an arching issue that stretched the planned 🚌 shuttle. Apologies to those impacted. We are doing a review to improve.

We know this has been a frustrating and challenging evening for Red Line customers. We are adding extra shuttle bus service that is running express from Farragut West to Woodley Park and limited from Farragut West to Dupont and Woodley Park. More to come soon. #wmata

Proud of the @wmata team supporting 1st amendment events over last few weeks incl today’s large rally. Already safely moved 500k+ on 🚇 today as biggest day since pandemic. Our national capital can’t support these events w/o a well functioning #wmata America’s Transit System!

Simply put,we are packed today. Currently 37k on 🚇, already ~200k/day. We are running lots of extra service & have extra staff to safely manage crowds but delays occur loading/unloading 🚇 @ Smithsonian due to very large crowds. Thx for your patience & for riding Metro. #wmata

Thanks for riding @wmata to experience peak bloom 🌸and the Kite Festival. There are more than 30,000 riding Metro right now!!! It certainly beats the traffic, but we are experiencing minor delays on Blue 🔵, Orange 🟠, and Silver ⚪️ lines due to crowds.

Jonah thx for highlighting that quality service is driving ridership. The fact that on weekends we are fully recovered is a sign that the all hours/all days frequent network is paying dividends.

Remarkable: DC's transit system is now leading post-pandemic ridership recovery compared to NYC Transit, Boston MBTA, Chicago CTA & SF BART. Despite fact that DC had the 2nd-biggest ridership drop-off at beginning of pandemic. What's worked? WMATA has really improved service.

Video shows incident today of Blue Line train at National Airport hitting an object on the track. Prelim inspection appears object came off of proceeding 2k/3k train. We are inspecting all 2k/3k trains and will provide additional updates. #wmata

Decided to skip the White House Correspondent Dinner #WHCD (and by skip I mean I didn’t have a ticket) and instead cross the river for dinner on the @wmata 38B 🚌 and then a nice walk back to DC across Key Bridge. Great to see so many people out tonight!

Hi Paul. Not sure when/where you ride but Metro is running the most 🚇 in our history & have peak headways as low as 3 mins. We are also running combo of 8 & 6 car train sets & have capacity for any commuters that return to the office. #wmata is not issue for return to office.

After visiting the Emergency Center I joined the team to load trains at Smithsonian platform helping get people home. We ran ~1-2 min headway for over an hour straight with trains packed. Happy 4th everyone and hope you come ride #yourmetro again soon. Great job team 👏👏

Arrived in Ashburn at 2:27:47pm, which means it took me 8 hr 10 min to ride the entire Metrorail system and visit every Metro station. Not breaking the current record of 8 hr 4 min. But the adventure was fun, and beats fighting over a TV this am! Thanks for letting me share it!

Late night @wmata check in. Tonight on 🟠🚇 @ East Falls Church. Caught a 7K, headways are pretty consistent, new screens are great, clean station, station mgr is a 24 yr veteran. We had 305K rail customers yesterday & busy again today. Metro is coming back. #yourmetro #wmata
