Nurse on @NickyAACampbell ’s show on @bbc5live stating that #Nursing is vocation. It emphatically isn’t. It’s a modern knowledge-intensive, highly technical, evidenced-based, safety critical profession. The notion that its’ a “vocation” has held the profession back for too long.

@GBNEWS @PatrickChristys No such ceremonial pledge is taken by any #Nurse in the UK - that’s completely inaccurate. The #Nursing regulator has even stated a position that nurses can strike. Strike action was taken by #Nurses in 2019-2020, it was safe and effective, using the life-preserving model.

@alisonleary1 @YSTeachingNHS I’m on £13.84 p/h, so which is it? Is my worth as a degree educated safety-critical professional similar to unskilled labour in the retail sector or £40p/h?.. It also took several months for admin to be completed so I could move roles in the NHS. 🤔

Being #ActuallyAutistic I’m often not keen on venturing out and being gregarious. As my next phrase in life beings ( #Nursing and all that) I’m making a conscious effort to leave the house more and be around folks (even if solo) - so popped out for a hot chocolate. #Neurodiverse

1/2. It’s all detached from reality sort of thinking from some #NHS bosses: as there is no additional staff to be had from anywhere. Also, admitting people at the front door, corralling them for a while, and then pushing them onto already understaffed wards is dangerous.
