Because the current logic is: a bed is a bed, and being admitted somewhere is better than nowhere.
Around 12,000 students will assist in the safe delivery of health & social care as we respond to the pandemic, with 3000 nursing & midwifery students heading out on placement this month.

regulator has even stated a position that nurses can strike.

workforce crisis persists safe and effective care is compromised - too few staff and ever increasing demands and patient numbers.

I’m on £13.84 p/h, so which is it? Is my worth as a degree educated safety-critical professional similar to unskilled labour in the retail sector or £40p/h?..
It also took several months for admin to be completed so I could move roles in the NHS. 🤔

The pay deal imposed will do little to address the

workforce crisis - where pay and conditions need to improve to have a positive effect on retention and recruitment.
… and as long as this crisis continues there will be significant patient safety concerns.
5/6. so as to increase retention (but also recruitment), patient safety will continue to be compromised (and people will continue to come to harm).
It’s unsafe, and it needs to be sorted. If the Government was serious about patient safety it would listen to frontline
