In large part, to women getting a college education - which we continue to do in larger percentages than men.

I've talked to GOP voters while canvassing who swear that the "government has never done anything for them" usually takes less than 20 minutes to find out at least 5 programs they have benefit with direct transfers but never acknowledged.

@AsteadWesley This a correct. Black voters have a better understanding of the psychology of the average white voter than white voters. Why? They have to learn how to navigate them everywhere - at work to be successful, at stores so they are not harassed, etc. It gives a unique perspective.

@KatyTurNBC If someone had asked me to pick the likeliest scenario in 2012: 1. Trump is the President in 2018 2. Aliens invading NYC in 2018 I would have picked Aliens. Aliens may provide a temp. escape from our current reality. Also, it may scare enough of that 30% to demand a real gov.

@CNNSotu @aravosis @jaketapper I saw Mr. Rogers growing up. I remember civility & kindness but also, constant confrontation. Mr. Rogers said "this is wrong" all the time. It was his way of teaching empathy. It's even more powerful if said softy & politely. Resolute rejection of evil does not require yelling.

@lxeagle17 Women usually like to be tolerant of divergent POV. ..until we get piss off. If women start to actively taking politics personally the fallout effects for R's will not only be "losing female voters" but also, married suburban women will "forget" to remind husband to vote.

@leslieebersole @RadioFreeTom Nothing worked. Ironically, calling b.s. and dismissal of bad faith, shameless lying and tantrums as such...seem to be a more effective tactic than anything else. Asserting power instead guilt triping us into coddling their resentments seems to be marginally more effective.

@oneunderscore__ The worse? It may work. Why? Americans have this deep "we cannot know what is in their mind/heart" default to avoid confrontation, excuse lousy behavior, and enable people who care about it because it is easier than walking away.
