*Former girls ice hockey mom enters the chat* My daughter played 3 sports while in HS (ice hockey & rowing) and college (sailing), and the worst disparity by far was her ice hockey experience.
The Covid spread at the South Side Chicago school where my daughter works was so significant at the beginning of this week that she had 3 classes go remote by Tuesday, and she expected the rest to go remote soon after. This was before the lockout, by the way.
Based on current data, almost 19% of disclosed COVID-19 exposures at

I live alone and have a back injury, so this grocery delivery by app has been a godsend. I tip a living wage, and on some apps the shopper can see this before starting. Most of my experience has been good, every once in a while there’s just a not so great shopper.
Ravi Bhalla, who was the target of racist political flyers in Hoboken a few days ago, will be the first Sikh mayor in the US. Congrats Ravi! Go Montville!

The lowest point I ever hit as a parent was when I found my kid — who had piled a chair and two boxes on top of each other — eating my hidden V-day chocolate stash. She was 3.
@ClaraJeffery
When my kid was in HS sports, we parents were expected to help with “hospitality” a few times a season. When one season I showed up for grill duty at a regatta, I was told it was for “the Dads.” Me: “Well I am her Mother and Father!” 🙃

If you need a great edge case for testing town/county/zip lookups, go look up Radnor Township, PA. It is in 3 counties/has 7 (?) towns within/multiple zip codes.

High school girls get the worst ice time (9pm-close to midnight) because in the league my daughter played in, "it was the best time after everyone else played their games." according to one Dad/coach.

A few years ago, I stayed in a hotel in Zürich where the shower and the toilet were enclosed in a mostly clear glass box *in the room*. I suppose it would be either an exciting (or not so exciting) stay for couples. Photo from inside the glass box.

As a veteran girls ice hockey mom I'm glad, but why did the article have to pit the sport against figure skating? They are both great sports for our girls.
A disproportionate amount of writing and tooling comes from companies like Facebook, Netflix, LinkedIn, Google, and Amazon. Many people assume there's a trickle-down effect: great engineers at companies with money to burn come up with good solutions to problems everyone has. 2/
Super heartbroken 💔 to be missing

To all of my social media friends posting pictures of your kids holiday concert outfits…
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SO HAPPY I DON’T HAVE TO DO THAT AGAIN
…your kids look sweet and I’m sure they played/sang/danced well.
Some personal news: A few months ago I started with the wonderful gang working on big networking problems at

On the flip side, Harry spoke of wanting to leave the family even before meeting Meghan. (For example, he was pushed out of active duty military bc someone leaked his location in Afghanistan.) He may have married Meghan explicitly as a reason *to* leave.

Long story short, the project got a big donation in 2016 from a You Tuber who asked to change posts to toots. The founder (who is not a native English speaker and did not know the other meaning) agreed. Anyway, the branding is being reverted back to posts in this new 4.0 version.

Hello 👋, long story short, I traveled this summer and got Covid (after vacation and seeing family) while flying from the East Coast. I’m only now getting over it - still have the cough - 3 1/2 weeks later. It was also *not* a mild illness despite being vax 3x.
To the Twitter team past and present: It's almost 16 years to the day I signed up.
I just wanted to give you my thanks and appreciation for all that you've done. ❤️
Good luck on what's next, and maybe a few of you might come work with me?

I sent my child (of a single mom) to a college with a lot of well to do kids. One time my kid mentioned she would be asked to shop w/ friends at the grocery store. I asked why, and kid replied “I’m the only one who knows how to shop and have the trip cost under $50.”

Not just New York. New Jersey has a lot of Dutch history. The town I grew up in still had descendants from the original Dutch families. Also, Rutgers the state university of New Jersey, is named after a Dutch descendant, Henry Rutgers.
Not going to mention the specific username, but I just have to say that I’m *super* happy I long ago blocked a certain derivative of my username.
There’s a minor current story going on and my mentions would have been nuts.

A few years ago, I was on a DEN > SFO flight and a cute couple fresh from a ski weekend sat next to me.
The one sitting closest to me opened up their laptop and started reviewing real estate contracts for a certain electric car company.

They were deplatformed because they broke the ToS of a private Internet-based service. A private Internet-based service which guaranteed them no type of SLA.
They are free to share their views on any street corner or sign or Web site they may choose to create.
Went to King of Prussia mall. It seemed brisk but the back parking lots were not even full and the stores had staff standing around, no significant lines.
Dear Twitter Friends and Family... 🎉 I have some personal news. 🎉
As some of you have guessed, I am (in the words of *some people who will not be mentioned*) finally moving to Silicon Valley.
Here's to a new decade! 🎊
Good luck to the soul who used my Gmail account to sign up for NBA 2K. Your account will be deleted in 48 hours since you can’t verify the email address you used to sign up. 😂

Apple can take my SE out of my cold, dead, petite hands. I stood in line when the iPhone was first released, but I can't comfortably use anything larger. I have small lady pockets.

I'd be happy to see you change the color once search goes wide release.
Also one big quibble about Bsky. It's actually difficult to follow people there, as you have to find and follow them one by one. Or is there some follow-graph workaround or import I haven't heard of yet?
@GovMurphy
When I was growing up in North Jersey, I had a neighbor who was a huge, huge Cosmos fan. He dreamed of the day when the sport would become more popular here in the US. I only wish he was still around to see this.

Update your chart... as of this weekend, opt-in full-text search of public posts on Mastodon is now live on and . (And should be rolling out to others in the next release.)
Some details here:
I just walked into my bedroom to see my kid lounging on my bed watching a show on her laptop.
Me: …
Her: …
Me: Why are you on my bed?
Her: It’s the best place to eat my Wawa hoagie.

FYI, you can lodge a complaint with Google for that one competitor who is using your company name *in the text of* their ads, they can't do that.
Also, I feel your pain. I tell my CEO that our branded Google ads is akin to paying for a welcome mat.

Back when Andy was living in the Philly suburbs, I once saw him at an intersection driving this big-ass old man Cadillac with his wife in the front seat. I thought to myself, "Now that's exactly the car I expected a man like Andy Reid to drive."
I had a bad feeling about traveling to Philly for Christmas, so I quietly punted. Kid came out to see me instead. This morning, with a sore throat, she popped positive on an antigen test.
Anyway, going to be a quiet, rainy holiday here.

*Stares in worked at Aria Systems (cloud subscription billing)*
When I worked at Aria back in 2009-11, we would hear from developers who wanted to set up online billing. Unless they had a US or EU bank account w/a tie to a card processor they couldn't. What a pain point.

But an ancillary story to yours? A big reason why I married so young is because the (now disgraced) brigade commander discouraged officers from having live-in girlfriends.
A handsome young man with a beard just walked by wearing a peacoat, sunglasses and an Eagles hat. I think “Oh my daughter might find him attractive.” I look again and he is wearing SWEATPANTS. Me: Never mind

Yeah, but this racist flyer didn’t appear in one of those creepy towns. It was sent in one of the largest, ethnically diverse NJ suburbs.
Had a great day. One of those days in a startup when things fall into place — and other awesome things you can’t talk about quite yet. 😏 Gonna relax with this.

From someone who has been there: 20 yrs ago I got some IT certs. I later taught cert classes. Then, I left IT/tech to go into marketing. What am I doing 2 decades later? I sell software to folks with some of the same certs I earned.
tl;dr - Life is a journey, get the certs. 😉
