Fauci and Stephen Colbert waltzing into a NYC pharmacy to get a booster while maskless is really something else. What a failure of public health in this country.
Dr. Fauci was eligible for his COVID booster shot so Stephen took him next door to the pharmacy to get vaccinated — and they had quite the journey.

Denmark — with its nationalized health care and higher vaccination rates — is a runaway train right now.
Remember this when
@CDCDirector
does another interview in 6 months to tell us she was “stunned” by BA.2
15% of kids hospitalized with BA.2 in Hong Kong developed neurological complications.
“We have seen seizures that lasted up to 30 minutes, swollen vocal cords, changes in consciousness and acute brain inflammation. All these are unique to this Omicron sub-variant …”
Since many love to compare Covid to the flu … when have you ever heard of anyone getting the flu 2-3 separate times in one season? 2-3x in one season *after* vaccination??
Omicron isn't the "end game" for COVID.
People are getting re-infected with Omicron.
Mass infection with Omicron isn't a reasonable means of reaching an end game for COVID given that infection with Omicron isn't even the end game for Omicron.
Google outbreak in LA
“Google has 2,000 employees in Los Angeles, according to reporting by the Los Angeles Business Journal last year. If that is accurate, it would mean that 14% of the company’s workforce has been hit recently.”
Right now, we’re facing the BA.5 variant – it's the reason I got sick and has infected a lot of people around the world.
But because I've made billions available for school ventilation, free boosters, testing, high-quality masks, and more, we're equipped to fight it.
On September 29, Al Roker announced that he had Covid.
That was about 7 weeks ago.
Hoping he recovers fully and starts wearing a mask again.

The Director of the CDC was “stunned” in late July that vaccinated people were getting and spreading Covid?
Really?
Here’s a NYT article from May 15 detailing the Changi Airport cluster:
This is gaslighting.
The discovery that vaccinated people could spread the Delta variant threw President Biden's vaccine-centric strategy off course. It was a "heart sink" moment, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the CDC, recalled.
When Anthony Fauci goes on Stephen Colbert and gets a booster in a Manhattan Walgreens without a mask is he:
a) an individual making a personal risk assessment?
b) the Chief Medical Advisor to the President endorsing the administration’s policies?
Asking for a friend.

Dr. Monica Ganhdi has been outspoken, at several stages, about where she thought the pandemic would be headed.
@mehdirhasan
asks her if it’s time for her to stop making such broad forecasts. WATCH:
“More than a third of Los Angeles Police Department personnel who are out sick with COVID-19 have been absent from work for more than 14 days, a trend that Police Chief Michel Moore said Tuesday, July 26, has gotten the department’s attention.”
‼️ 85% of sequences in Hong Kong found to be BA.2 with I1221T mutation
- cases increased 205x in the last month
- deaths have gone from 0 to 134 per day average in 3 weeks
I know we’re busy taking a Covid victory lap and patting ourselves on the back, but this seems bad.
BA2: Hong Kong, deaths shooting up—New mutation found in spike—found in 85% of cases: deaths 6x higher than comparable countries: spike change also found in UK....
“The email states the reason for the decision is due to numerous legal, medical, and educational issues associated with the practice.”
This is not in line with other local colleges, who continue to implement isolation policies and excused absences due to Covid.

The virus doesn’t care that it’s the holidays. Your vaccine wont do much to prevent infection or transmission of Omicron. Please don’t be part of the problem. 🙏
It is the first Bay Area county to reinstate an indoor mask order, which ended in February once the worst of the omicron-fueled winter surge in cases subsided.
Stories like this will be the new normal, unfortunately.
On Instagram, Bieber said she experienced “stroke like symptoms” while having breakfast Thurs. morning and was taken to the hospital. They found a small clot in her brain which passed on its own.

is admitting it will be dominant before Christmas.
It’s unacceptable to pretend that vaccines are enough to protect us and that mixing households is safe. It’s not. She knows it. Remember this clip.

All the “individual risk assessment” aside, I think a lot of people assume the govt wouldn’t allow them to take off masks, etc., if it weren’t fundamentally safe.
Just being presented with an option drastically reduces the perceived risk, IMO.
