This is not "fearmongering." It's a compilation of Covid data-- medical studies, articles & expert discussions--organized by topic. It's what reporters would cover, consumer advocates would highlight and Public Health would warn about if we lived in a functioning democracy.

After noticing so many cloth masks on delivery folks, I started texting my Instacart & DoorDash people to ask if they needed N95 or KN95 & every single one has said yes. I now have a spare "Take One!" box of good masks on my porch. Let's help each other.🙏❤

“Dude, my roommate had a stroke” is not something you ever expect to hear from someone in their 20s. It’s right up there with “my yoga teacher died of a pulmonary embolism.” And yet I’ve heard both in last few months. (Even “mild”) Covid is a vascular disease.

A man across the parking lot got out of his car and yelled "Hey!" while I was waiting in mine. "Your mask!" He pointed at me. I waited for the inevitable insult when he continued, before putting on a black KN95, "Where did you get it? My wife would love something like that." 🤗

Someone I know told me I needed to "lose the mask." I asked why they cared if I wore a mask or not? "What makes you think you're so special that you don't have to get Covid like everybody else?" This pandemic has weird layers to it. 😐

Those of us who wear masks everywhere are not neurotic. We are informed. Even mild Covid damages vascular system, heart, brain, organs, immune system, eyes, ears, fertility, sexual function, cognition, and more...often silently at first. A mask is no big deal. Organ damage is.

Another good story to break up the doom! Friend said her OB/GYN office is mask-required for anyone entering, including delivery people. N95s, NOT surgical, provided at the door. Doctor said “Covid isn’t a mild virus. That’s politics not medicine.” SOME DOCTORS GET IT!!!🙏🏼❤️😷

Emerging information reveals that SarsCov2 is a vascular disease entering body w/acute infection. So "mild illness" is not mild like acute cold that clears, but mild like acute HIV, Hep, HSV & most acute cases of polio. Think beginning of a process. How bad? We don't know yet.

From a friend getting a cancer screen today: "Nobody here is masked and the technician condescendingly told me 'Covid has become an ordinary cold. It has genetically modified to be no more dangerous than any other cold.'" US healthcare is not informed by scientific data.

Wow! A Twitter peep who prefers to be unnamed wrote me about her doctor visit. She took an Aranet monitor, portable Hepa air purifier and package of N95s for the GP and staff. She said "I'm a Long Covid education activist. I read and organize Covid medical studies every day..."😎

Taking precautions to avoid getting Covid is not "anxiety" any more than taking precautions to avoid getting pregnant or STDs. Why are people believing/repeating this nonsense? It's coercive abuse. Wearing PPE for protection is a form of bodily autonomy.✊😷

SarsCov2--even mild or asymptomatic--is a vascular disease that effects & damages multiple organs & systems. It gets in via your respiratory tract. We're only 2 years in & findings for damage from this "mild" virus are staggering. Take 10 minutes to scroll my feed to see how.

Last I checked, "mild" infection didn't mean: * You need to monitor your oxygen level with a pulse oximeter to make sure your mildness isn't hypoxic. * you might permanently lose your taste and smell * You might now have microclots in your blood that you can't easily test for...

There is no summer flu. Influenza is almost undetected in wastewater analysis. Covid, however, is surging.

Imagine if the National Weather Service just turned off all the radar and satellite imagery? That's what CDC did with their Covid "tracking" map.

I repeat: it took loud activism from ActUp and other advocates to force government and public health to address AIDS. This transformed public opinion, behavior, govt policy and promoted funding of research that eventually gave us effective HIV treatments. Stay loud about Covid.

Maddening discussions lately. Loved one: "We have different opinions about Covid." Me: "I'd love to see your data. I have thousands of medical studies, articles, discussions and analyses by experts that have informed my opinion." Loved one: "We just have different opinions."

Those of us warning about long-term effects of SarsCov2 really want to go back to normal, too. We just don’t want to cut short that normal with cognitive and vasculature damage or have a NEW normal of disability, memory loss, increased risk of stroke/heart failure & diabetes.

So many folks I know have terrible health insurance and can't get approved for tests even when they want them because the officials have downplayed any need for post infection follow-up. Others say bleak things like "well, I'm just waiting to have a stroke now, I guess."

I'm so grateful when someone says "we all had Covid but we're fine now!" But I still worry. Because the emerging data looks horrific and SarsCov2 likes to stick around with lasting issues.

Because I am such a freaking doomer, I thought I'd lighten up my feed with a good story. ANOTHER win for masks. Friend's kids brought home 1st time Covid in 1st week of school several weeks ago which is terrible, but she, with autoimmune disease, was determined to not get it...

Wait...? "the updated booster is not intended for everyone. It’s for people in high-risk groups – those who are age 75 or older, pregnant or immunocompromised...The general public should not expect to need to receive the latest COVID booster,"

Got email from old friend who found me because someone had one of my tweets on her Insta feed. She didn't know vaccines don't stop infection/transmission. She didn't know Covid causes organ, brain, heart, vascular, immune system damage. She didn't know Covid causes blood clots..

I know several people who work remote and are happily reclusive. They're part of the professional class/successful creative class. They don't have kids or kids are grown. They have adapted to smaller, less crowded lives. Many have started traveling in RVs or building cabins.

Researchers: here are hundreds more studies showing how SarsCov2 causes long-term cardiovascular, brain, organ and immune system damage even if acute infection is mild or asymptomatic. This includes early dementia and sudden cardiac death! HUNDREDS more studies! Meanwhile...

You will never regret taking precautions to NOT GET Covid. Hang on, #WearAMask N95 or better whenver you share air. Don't give up because everyone else has.
