@jahorne @RM_Transit I'd say it's cultural. In Canada the bus (& streetcar) are not seen as mainly for the poor. So surface lines feed rail lines, necessitating higher frequencies. Plus large Canadian cities haven't abandoned downtowns, so entertainment & residential, not just business uses.

@Ramsey_Kilani King 504 is the busiest streetcar line in North America. Carries more than the entire GO Train network daily. Forcing 504 streetcars to divert, especially with the 501 Queen cars on diversion, makes no sense. Put the @TIFF_NET party on a side street.
