Built in in the early 2000s, our P42 locomotives have been serving Canadians for more than two decades and still going strong! Boasting a whopping 4,250 horsepower and a top speed of 160 km/h, these were our most energy-efficient locomotives until the arrival of our new fleet. 🍃
Built in the late 80s, VIA Rail’s F40 locomotives are a favourite among railfans. These 3,000-horsepower machines can be seen carrying passengers in the Corridor, but are famous for leading the Canadian through the epic twists of the Rockies.
We love the look of our new locomotive. But what we love even more is its state-of-the-art diesel engine ⚙️ which will result in a significant contribution to improving air quality 🍃 and reducing environmental impact.

As 🇨🇦's only coast to coast passenger rail provider, we've been well acquainted with the country's elements since the 70s!And while we appreciate this locomotive's vintage look, we promise to go with something a little more modern for our New Fleet.😁
