What do you get when Nollywood decides to bring Five Feet Apart and A Walk to Remember together?
You get a cute piece called The Boy Before You.

My mother wrote a book about her experience with DV. Publication got sponsored by an organization in Netherlands. Got an honorary Doctorate from a US university. Is always at the forefront of women empowerment in Benin City (since she moved there).
Yโall, please tell the class the times your mother has done things (not related to being a mother) that stood out to you.
Iโm really tired of the fuckass cooking conversations.
I'm sad that people are saying they haven't read a โจhappyโจ Nigerian book, so I'm creating a list to kill that narrative. Writers and readers please add the ones you know or wrote, I'll start:
What Happened to Janet Uzor by Miracle Emeka-Nkworโ Young Adult Murder Mystery.

Good day

We grew up in a society where boys would laugh at girls for being 'stained' and the only way to use your pads was to hide it deep inside your school bag and carry it with you to the restroom or any private enough corner. So no, it's not enough yet.
Hi, I have this filmmaking skill that I am starting to make use of properly and my โจvery second videoโจ worthy of being up on my YouTube channel is here. I want to tell stories of creatives and why they love what they love.
I am super excited for this and want you to see it.

Show us one story where a woman made a man's life miserable for not proposing with a helicopter? If you have no story, stay out of this conversation ๐ซต๐ฝ.
I wish we could send voice notes on here, but

Their idea of privilege starts and ends with getting things like washing machine and being given lifts. They don't remember things like not being afraid of being married off as a child, or being catcalled/ ass grabbed when you're minding your business. Leave X and see this world!

@deranwigene
'Only fair part', applies to both of the partners abi just the females? You also say 'most women' and I don't know the statistics but I'm sure that it's not 'most'. Excluding the jobless, I do know women who work and their African husbands are still shit.
I hope one day we have a conversation about how hard it is to navigate life knowing that you're multi talented and โmulti interestedโ. Some days I wish I had one thing I was very good at to just simply focus on, like a number of people.
Writing is ghetto. I think about all my characters and draft out dialogues and actions in my head. I can see it perfectly well, I can feel it. Then I sit at the computer and all I can see is the blinking cursor, and blank pages.
@ToyosiGodwin
I actually think I'm a Lazy person, I can't say this to my mother or I'll never hear the last, lol. But you're right about achieving, when I decide that today I want to do something, I overdo. From reading, to arranging room and to writing. But I'm lazy
Leave trend aside now. As a man shouldn't you be ashamed that your fellow man was not present in his childs life? Like shame is supposed to be killing you so much that you'll be apologizing it ever happened. Unless, of course you are/will be one.
Women will do things for girls and women while men will be looking at boys waiting for women to come and do things for them too then complain that the women are doing things for the girls.
The number of girl child foundation is alarming ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ Please how many Boy child foundation do we have?
Turn right girl child foundation, turn left girl child foundation. Abi Boy child no need societal care and empathy?
Majority of the time when this happens it is because of the treatment the woman has had to endure from the man. The Nigerian society favors men especially when it comes to Marital Violence, in developed world like the UK it favors the women so they rush to make up narrativesโ
Hello everyone,
A family friend of mine is in urgent need of a job with sponsorship. Last month, he arrived in the UK with his children as dependents and his wife went to pick them up at the airport and asked to see their childrenโs passports, which he handed over without....
Hiii. Reintroducing myself. I am Emmanuella Omonigho Ogbeide-Okoh, author of STARS IN A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT, creative writer and funtographer + (learning) film maker. And this is a thread of everything I've done ๐ง๐ฝโโ๏ธ.
Hi to new followers๐ค. If you're a writer, I post writing opportunities with no submission fee on

Buy/wear Nigeria Fashion. This clothing was made by my friend Emmy (Emmy Kasbit), and the shoes by my friend Sodiq who has his clothing line called 'Rogue'.
As a woman, saying you're not a feminist is not a flex. Feminism paved way for a lot of things you enjoy today, and will still continue to fight to get all of the over deserved benefits ๐.
@Mochievous
was discussing presidency with my mom and sis today and my sister said we need a female president. my moms reply was they will not agree, all of them will forget this and start calling themselves body part, talk about head and neck.
Hello, I am Emmanuella Omonigho (insert long surname) and I write.

There are actually quite a number of books popping up based on African Mythology, but who looks their way if they are not extremely popular? Here's one based on the Igbo Mythology.

Lmao. It's time to go and tell all those plenty husbands living under their wifes labor that from now on they are sex workers alone. Let nobody complain about such a woman acting like the head of the house again o๐๐ฝ
The fact that we've been made to see our natural hair as ugly makes me sad. With each passing minute a girl somewhere is being taught that to be pretty she must wear a foreigners hair on her head to cover the God given beautiful hair.
There's a lot of teaching to be done.

Also, do you have dogs? Dogs smell things and then proceed to dig stuff out, especially if it isn't buried too deep, which in that case exactly was. Local dogs have no chill in digging either. So, that scene was written and done well.
I don't know about the girls girl part, but here's a book about domestic violence, written by my Mother and based on her personal experiences. Y'all can read it.
I am BEGGING yโall to read at least one book on domestic violence bc this isnโt being a girls girl, this is helping to isolate a victim further bc she didnโt respond how you wanted her to
So, it is official. STARS IN A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT has a new look and I am the Author (always have been, but you get).
While we await the Paperback release date, the Original draft is available on Pabpub:
