I want to give one example that I am extremely familiar with……magnesium, one of the most abundant minerals on the planet. Magnesium has many purposes, but the two largest are, in order, 1) desulfurization of steel, required to make high strength steel and 2) aluminum alloying..

@chigrl Always….and I mean always….check a second source. Amazon tracks you purchase and adjusts their prices based on what they think you can pay. Prime can mean hours to days. I got a package yesterday within 3 hours of order, others take over a week.
