Had lunch with one of the folks that farms for us and just got off the phone with another. Interesting stuff…..no shortage of fertilizer or seed for 2022 season
@DoombergT
. It’s tights but everyone seems to have what they need. More later….mom has projects, lots of projects
Interesting story on wheat…..when it hit the highs, no one could get a bid, it dropped $2 before a bid was given 😳, then they widened the basis out massively to cover themselves.
One last point on this, and then I am done. For 2022 in the USA, I am more concerned about the availability of parts of something breaks down than I am fertilizer or seed. Parts are much harder to come by and mechanics are as well.
@DoombergT
Possibly, or we may be a year away from issues. I am told it’s tight for fert and seed, but most was ordered last year. If you want extra it’s costly and may be hard to come by.

I spoke to two of our folks, represent a couple thousand acres farmed in total (not all ours), but very representative of Midwest USA

This is what I've been hearing the whole time
@Badgerswimr
and that the increased price of corn will more than cover the increased price of inputs. It sets up imo a bullish scenario for beans
