The standard diagnostic method for #malaria is time-consuming & error-prone. Our BioE team created what could be a faster, cheaper, & more accurate tool: a UV 🔬 equipped w/ machine learning. We're excited to start field tests with @UCSF & @IDRC_Uganda !

A new study in @SciImmunology shows that pre-existing autoantibodies to type 1 interferons slow the immune response in breakthrough COVID-19 cases. Before vaccines, these antibodies were found in 10% of patients in the ICU for COVID. Now, they're present in ~25%.
