Seeing a medical doctor in general practice means you are less likely to attend the Emergency Department. Did you know only 43.9% of appointments are now with GPs? You and your family deserve the highest quality care. #ItsOkayToAsk for a doctor.

The use of PAs in UK healthcare needs an immediate pause with a public inquiry into the dangers such a role poses to patient safety.

This is appalling. Mid 50s, cancer red flags ignored by PAs for 8 months. This could be your dad. The UK is failing patients, and planning to fail many more with the dangerous long term workforce plan.

🚨⚠️RCGP council meeting papers show a move to consider offering RCGP fellowship and/or 'college affiliation' to non-doctor members of the MDT. This would set a dangerous precedent and is another move by key stakeholders that will undermine GPs and the medical profession.⚠️🚨

@cenkalhan None of these roles will replace a GP. And very few of them actually reduce a GP's workload. I'm fundamentally against substituting doctors using non-doctors for what should be doctor tasks. Some roles are helpful, eg pharmacists doing medication reviews. Others much less so.
