My medical degree took 5 years to complete. I'm very confident that at least 50% of it was useless and forgotten by everyone within a week. I learnt the vast majority of my skills as a junior doctor in Stoke. Apprenticeship med training is a great idea and 4 years is long enough

@flufficat I've worked in Birmingham since 1997 and lived there till 10 years ago. It's a great city. I'm a white Jew and would have no problem going anywhere in the city. Obviously caution required at night,but no different to any modern city. Your comments seem to be based on one photo

@mjtoal May be,but I doubt it. Its not a curious claim,its just honesty. A lot of lectures were boring and largely irrelevant. A lot of clinical attachments added very little experience or knowledge. The whole thing could easily have been drastically condensed and improved
