Parents, did you know most public schools don’t do direct instruction anymore? The term teacher is still used to describe education professionals, but modern methods see them more as facilitators of a student led learning process. Has this helped, or hindered, learning?

Is @Montoya4MCPS running for Congress or for @mocoboe ? Is she following the well traveled county political path from PTA to BoE to County Council, protecting the status quo in service of the establishment while our schools continue to fail and our children are not learning?

@davidjtrone Who is writing these tweets for you? You are presenting facile strawmen from 2020 as your platform. You should take control of your twitter account and write your own tweets. And if these strawmen are the extent of the knowledge of your advisors on these issues, then hire better

We must do better than this. This is not who we are as Americans. If our country is to remain free and prosper, our universities must be places for open inquiry and free exchange of ideas. The ideology that has infected them is killing the host, and the rest of us as well in the

Common Sense is a quality student paper. I recommend reading the article @BrendaMDiaz4BOE mentioned when it is published. Brenda provides a good summary below of these issues we as a community must address with urgency now.

@MrDanielBuck People need to see what has actually been brought into K-12 schools and universities. The bumper stickers sound nice to many people. The actual manifestations and results are very ugly because the ideology itself is designed to corrupt, destabilize, and destroy.

It’s time high schools got their act together and banned phones. I’m being told that 8th graders can’t be expected to abide by a phone ban because they know their high school teachers will waste their education in a few short months. Ban them, ffs 🤦‍♂️

1/3 As a parent, I experienced “abolitionist teaching” firsthand when my kids were in fourth grade. What abolitionist teachers want to abolish is prisons, police, banks, standardized tests, and honors classes, while teaching kids they must advocate for these and other causes.

@cleanslatemoco @LauraStewartBoe So this is her plan to make public education even more expensive, and even less effective—and exert even more control over our kids and communities? As you said, MCPS can’t even teach math effectively, and now they want to provide health care and therapy to our kids, too?
