I’m not super strong one way or another on masking in schools but does anyone else find it odd that all of these pro universal masking in schools statements and pieces are coming out today - right after the election?

A great story… but it’s over 10 years old and most definitely not to the credit of the person posted here. I’ve seen it many times over the years. Here’s a source from 2013:

The worst part of this is that she’s like “see what I’m dealing with here”… it’s like she has zero respect for him and thinks this is ok

What I find interesting is that you could change a few words here or there and it would apply to almost any news organization - including the post.
It reads like “they’re telling people what to think and that’s our job”
@MontCoExec
Yikes… are you really trying to threaten little kids who are least at risk with virtual learning if older adults don’t boost? Have you learned nothing in two years or do you not care for kids at all?
@granthpaulsen
Because the area transportation is unfortunately still built to force everyone in Maryland through DC to get anywhere in VA which is a huge bottleneck mess. Could throw a football across the water in some places of the Potomac yet have to go many miles out of the way
Quick sidebar on taxes:
I don’t mind paying more taxes. I came here for good services and don’t mind paying for them.
I do have issues with paying more taxes with zero accountability, proper processes not followed, and with decreasing levels of services.

For MCPS tomorrow, we’re predicting 80-90% chance of full closure at this point. Some roads (especially the state roads) are really bad right now and the main snow system hasn’t even come yet (expected overnight).

Being fully vaccinated at this point is not being completely protected. For us to weather future upticks and surges without mandates, virtual learning, or restrictions - we must increase our booster numbers. Find a vaccination site here:

And how do you feel on opening primaries to let everyone vote when it counts in Montgomery such as the approximately 25% of registered voters who are unaffiliated? It’s already allowed by state law and your voice would mean a lot to get the MD Democratic Party to allow it

It’s actually extremely simple… there was NO plan until 6 days before school started. There was ZERO leadership shown over the summer and a lackadaisical approach to opening schools after 18 months of closed and hybrid until parents made a big fuss and politicians got scared

Yikes. This person seems to be spiting their own child to get back at others who chose not to vaccinate. If they had young kids or others in family couldn’t vaccinate maybe it’d be different but still there would be options to quarantine/test upon return.

Not allowed to vote in primaries funded by public money they pay for!
It’s primary season, so let’s talk about our broken primary system. Partisan primaries leave millions of Americans voiceless each year. It’s time we change that.

Great points by Councilmember Glass.
Further though, what’s the point of all these investigations if all of the key information such as who knew what when is being withheld.
2 years ago today MCPS announced the slowest reopening in the state of Maryland - the 48th slowest state to reopen schools.
It would still be another 7 months before full reopening
